Blastatsu is the family ship between Blast and Tatsumaki from the One Punch Man fandom.

Canon

Blast and Tatsumaki seem to have a special bond, even though they don't interact much in the story. Ever since she was saved by Blast, Tatsumaki has deeply respected the man. She has followed the few pieces of advice Blast has given her since her rescue, such as when he told her to protect her sister and not rely on anyone to come to her aid when the time comes. She has taken this advice to heart, although she follows his advice a bit too much because she has isolated herself from other people and keeps her distance. However, secretly Tatsumaki knows that her lifestyle is not good for her in the long run and wants to seek more advice from Blast, even though she has yet to properly meet him again.

Monster Association Arc

Chapter 137 (Online)

Tatsumaki is momentarily knocked unconscious while holding up a massive dome barrier. She begins to see a memory about 18 years ago, when she was still in a psychic research facility at the time. She was 10 years old. A hybrid monster specimen has gone berserk and attacks the scientists while Tatsumaki is locked in one of the cells, number 101. When the scientists decide to abandon the facility and Tatsumaki with it, the monster has decided to attack Tatsumaki. She has accepted her fate when suddenly the monster is killed and Tatsumaki meets Blast for the first time.

Tatsumaki asks who he is and Blast introduces himself and says that he works as a hero, though it's more of a hobby for him since he also has an actual job. Blast asks why she didn't try to use her power, to which Tatsumaki lies that it doesn't work. Blast then tells her that it's not nice to lie, and Tatsumaki seems surprised by this. Blast asks if she thought the scientists would have let her go if she couldn't use her powers and they considered her "useless". Tatsumaki cries as she tells him that it doesn't matter anymore because no one would need her anyway since her parents sold her.

Blast pats Tatsumaki on the head and tells her that she has someone who needs her. Blast sees a picture of little Fubuki and says to Tatsumaki that she has a cute little sister. He then tells her to protect her family. After that, he decides to give her a little advice for later, because he is also one who has too much power; “When the time comes, don’t go expecting someone to come save you.” Tatsumaki takes this advice to heart and is suddenly awakened from her sleep when Fubuki calls her. Tatsumaki has returned to reality and continues to maintain the barrier.

Chapter 141 (Online)

At one point, when Tatsumaki used her light spear weapon to spear through Orochi's heart element and kill him once and for all, the other S-Class heroes were worried about Flashy Flash, but Tatsumaki tells them not to worry as she sensed a shift in space, meaning that Flashy Flash moved through another dimension, away from the Monster Association's base before it was being crushed by Tatsumaki. She then thinks about Blast and if he's there too because only he has that kind of ability she recognizes so far.

Chapter 156 (Online)

After Garou defeats Platinum Sperm, Tatsumaki is seen lying unconscious on the ground. Suddenly, “Blast” appears and he tells Tatsumaki how close she was and if she would have had a bit more power, she could have wiped out all her enemies by herself. Tatsumaki tells him that would be obvious. However, “Blast” tells Tatsumaki that he has trained and gained an ability to give power to others so she should take his hand and then they can strike down all her enemies together. Tatsumaki remembers what Blast told her when she was a child: To not trust anyone to come to her aid when the time comes. She then asks “Blast” who he really is and “Blast’s” face turns into veiny thing, revealing this entity’s “true face”. The entity known as “God” disappears, disappointed that it couldn’t get Tatsumaki to believe it.

Soon the real Blast appears, worried about Tatsumaki as he could sense this entity reaching out to her. However, he then feels proud of her since she has grown so much as she could resist its attempt to entice her. Tatsumaki’s sleeping face smiles at that. King and Saitama then notice Blast, and Blast ends up giving Tatsumaki to King so he can protect her when the number one hero can’t. Blast then leaves to join his companions in the fight against this dangerous “God” entity.

Psychic Sisters Arc

Chapter 182 (Online)

After using all her energy to fight against Saitama, to no avail, Tatsumaki starts losing consciousness and once again sees the memory of Blast telling her to not trust anyone to come save her when the time comes, and to protect her family. She then sees a flashback of the time when she wanted to get to Fubuki after she was saved, however, the Tsukuyomi agents followed her and she appears to be brutally killing them since after she dealt with them, she is bloody and Fubuki starts fearing her and screams at her to stay away from her. At the same time, she awakened her psychic powers and Tatsumaki felt responsible for it.

Tatsumaki then falls through darkness and “wakes up” as little girl, to see Blast standing in the light. Tatsumaki stands up and seems surprised to see Blast, however, he starts walking away from her wordlessly and Tatsumaki starts running after him, telling him to wait and to not leave her. It’s then told that Tatsumaki has excessive expectations of Blast, and she would like to believe that he would respect her if he sees how much stronger she has become. She believes Blast would teach her a better way to lead her life. Tatsumaki stops running after him and yells at him about how she has tried really hard, but nothing seems to work out. She tells how she actually doesn’t really want everyone to be scared of her, but unless they are things would be just like before. She asks Blast what she should do, and the image of Blast turns to look at her, and suddenly there is a bright light that blinds her and she wakes up for real.

Fanon

Blastatsu is liked friendship/familyship in the fandom. While some prefer them only as friends, there are many who feel that Blast is Tatsumaki’s only father figure in her life since her actual parents sold her off when she was still a child. Tatsumaki’s way of seeking approval from Blast seem to make the fans also think that in the context of father and daughter, it would look like Tatsumaki is looking for her father’s approval and advice. Their story in general also intrigues some people in the fandom, as their bond is interesting and their shared history and what’s to come interests them.

In some much rarer cases, there are also people who have toyed with the idea that they are "lovers". That Tatsumaki has a crush on Blast or something that many other fans don't find appealing.

At the moment, their relationship doesn't seem to have a tag on AO3, probably because the anime adaptation hasn't introduced Blast to the general people, and hasn't shown Tatsumaki and Blast's relationship yet. However, there are some posts about them on Tumblr, Reddit, and other places.

• In Hero Association, Blast is known as S-Class Rank 1 hero, while Tatsumaki is S-Class Rank 2. They are the two most highest ranked heroes in the association.
