How do you think I felt? When the fun guy I was dating decided to just... bail on me because I made the shitty mistake of saying I-I love... Ugh! It was... the most embarrassing feeling. To be vulnerable for once and... You really just... know how to send a message in the most shittiest, fucking way. The worst part is you still make me feel like a bad person for being angry at you now. But, hosting this party, for everyone else you dicked over? At least I can help others cope with the shit you did.
—Verosika Mayday, explaining to Blitzo how upset she was at him

Blitzika is the het ship between Blitzo and Verosika Mayday from the Helluva Boss fandom.

Canon[]

While the exact details are unclear, Blitzo and Verosika had met in the past and begun dating. According to Verosika’s words, it seems the two were close enough to engage in sexual acts, and Verosika even got a tattoo of Blitzo’s name on her arm, which she would afterwards cross out. During their relationship, Blitzo did not reciprocate many of her actions. Things went well until one day when Blitzo stole Verosika's car and drove it to the Wrath Ring, where he proceeded to max out her credit card on horse-riding lessons - all the while she was forced to pay for the hotel room where they were staying at. This incident was part of the events that ultimately led to the two messily breaking up. Verosika seems to harbor resentment for this, and Blitzo is shown to somewhat regret shoving away Verosika seeing as she appeared in his hallucination. In the following years, Blitzo would go on to form I.M.P. while Verosika would become one of Hell's leading popstars.

Several years after the breakup, Verosika is called up by a company working in the same office complex as I.M.P. to do some freelance work for the Spring Break week. Blitzo becomes aware of Verosika's presence when he finds her parked in the only parking spot in the lot that I.M.P. was allowed. Understandably, neither Blitzo nor Verosika are happy at seeing each other again as the two argue about what they've been doing since last seeing each other and why Verosika is there. When he learns that Verosika is going to be in the complex for the week, Blitzo goes ballistic and demands she remove her car from the spot, but gets stopped by her bodyguard Vortex when he nearly threatens her. As Verosika enters the complex, Blitzo is questioned by Moxxie, Millie, and Loona - all of whom witnessed the "reunion" from the van - about him previously dating one of Hell's biggest popstars. Blitzo - now thoroughly annoyed by the current situation - tries to play off the shock before telling Moxxie and Loona to go with him to deal with the parking spot problem.

Blitzo's annoyance increases exponentially when Vortex - who, much to his horror, Loona is falling for - reveals Verosika and her posse of succubi and incubi are stationed in the office across from I.M.P.'s. His breaking point is when he's forced to witness Moxxie, who volunteered to talk with Verosika personally, get sexually assaulted by her and her posse. After this, Blitzo has had enough and barges right into Verosika's office and proceeds to challenge her to a "demon duel" for the parking spot. Specifically, Blitzo wagers that he and I.M.P. can kill more people than Verosika and her posse can charm and have sex with by the end of the day, a wager that she gladly accepts. With the wager set, Blitzo hammers out a plan with the rest of I.M.P. to get the most kills to rub in Verosika's face, even offering Hell's public a Spring Break discount on assassinations.

In the mortal world, Blitzo and I.M.P. begin racking up kills with their plan of having Loona lead their targets into killzones. By the time they get nine kills, however, Verosika makes her move and launches a massive concert on the beach, one that causes the humans in attendance to start getting horny. Incensed by Verosika's presence, and realizing she's starting her "mating call", Blitzo orders the rest of I.M.P. to pick up the pace with the kills, but gets briefly sidetracked by Loona talking with Vortex again, and the ensuing argument. Afterward, both Blizo and Verosika witness a large fish monster - transformed by Verosika's flask of Beelzejuice that she threw into the ocean during the concert - begin terrorizing the beach and Millie slaying it to save Moxxie. In the aftermath, Blitzo, Verosika, and their respective groups confront each other about the entire event. Realizing that what Verosika did would lead to big trouble for her back in Hell, Blitzo offers to keep it under wraps if she gives up the parking spot, an offer that Verosika reluctantly accepts. With victory achieved, I.M.P. leaves while Verosika and her posse are captured by human authorities, but not before Blitzo flips her off in spite.

On another day, while Blitzo and Moxxie are captured by a human organization named D.H.O.R.K.S., the two of them are subjected to a truth gas that makes them hallucinate. During Blitzo's hallucination, an ink-like illusion of Verosika appears alongside others to mock him about needing others in his life only to push them away when he starts acting out.

Sometime after, Blitzo stalks Moxxie and Millie on their anniversary to Ozzie's in the Lust Ring. After getting in, with help from Stolas, Blitzo manages to find the couple, but does find out that Verosika is performing that night, which he's not happy about. Eventually, when the crowd begin to heckle Moxxie - who's performing onstage - for being in actual love with Millie, Blitzo cut into give his two cents. Verosika, seeing an opportunity, joins in with Fizzarolli to disparage Blitzo on him being terrible with others and ridiculing his love life. Blitzo is irritated to see Verosika, while she seems disdained and sings about how she’d stroke and fellate him, but that Blitzo did not reciprocate. Seeming upset, she calls him a “selfish imp in the streets” and “just as bad in the sheets” while pushing him in the process. Verosika calls him a reckless, heart-breaking freak, and Blitzo seem hurt by this as his previously annoyed expression drops.

A while later, presumably next Halloween, Verosika invites Stolas to her Anti Blitzo Party due to the fact Stolas is Blitzo's 'newest ex'. She shows empathy towards Stolas and encourages him to sing a song about his experience with Blitzo, but her mood dampens when Blitzo himself appears to apologise to both her and Stolas. She says he has a lot of nerve coming to the party, and rants at him about how he made her feel, explaining she felt embarrassed and vulnerable after he ran off when Verosika showed genuine love for him. Verosika then says she still feels like a bad person for being angry at Blitzo, and explains the reason she holds the party every year is to help others cope with what Blitzo put them all through. However, she does offer him some advice after Blitzo admits he wants to change, and gives him some cake before leaving.

Fanon[]

When Verosika first appeared and was revealed to be an ex-girlfriend of Blitzo, Blitzika wasn't seen as a very popular ship in the Helluva Boss fandom, until the second half of season two was released. While it's got support by being canon, since the two broke up, many note that Blitzo and Verosika are too toxic towards each other in the present for it to ever work again. As such, fans of the ship tend to focus more on their past relationship, up to and including what led to their break up. The main rival of this ship is Stolitz.

Much of the popularity for Blitzika stems from Verosika seeming legitimately hurt by breaking up with Blitzo. Since it is heavily indicated she had somewhat a genuine care for their relationship, such as smaller things like tattooing Blitzo’s name on her arm, led fans to see the ship with quite a potential for angst and works revolving around the possible heartbreak both parties felt, including the likeliness that Blitzo cared about their relationship which is why he pushed her away out of fear of getting too close to her. After "Mastermind" showed a brief moment of Verosika being worried for Blitzo, it subjects that she may still have feelings for him, despite how one of her songs indicated that she's over him, making fans wonder if Verosika may try to get back with him.

There have been fans who like to imagine an alternate scenario where the couple reconciles. In fanon works, they are often depicted as married or starting a family, with Verosika sometimes taking on a maternal role toward Loona, Blitzo’s adopted daughter. Like the various fancomics and fanfiction center around themes of reconciliation, forgiveness, and family. Some stories explore Blitzo and Verosika reconnecting after facing past traumas and mistakes. A popular fanon element includes fanchildren, imagined offspring from their relationship. While the overall tone of Blitzika fanon content ranges from dramatic to romantic. Some works highlight the pain and regret from their breakup, while others take a more hopeful approach, showing the pair overcoming their struggles and building a future together.

On AO3, Blitzika is the most written ship for Verosika, although it is mostly a former or background relationship for other pairs in fics.
