Blitzoona is the family ship between Blitzo and Loona from the Helluva Boss fandom.
Canon[]
Past[]
Around four years in the past, Blitzo went to a hellhound adoption agency in the hopes of getting one for himself, but not being enthused by the choices he was being presented with. By chance, he noticed a nearly 18-year old Loona being bullied by her "kennel-mate", resulting in him being thrown into the bars. When asked about her, the associate Blitzo was with told him she was a troublemaker and would be glad when she's aged out by next month. Seeing Loona crying in the corner, and hearing the associate put her down as never being able to amount to much, triggered something in Blitzo that causes him to adopt her. Soon after, Blitzo started I.M.P. and put Loona as the company's receptionist. Despite her blatant disinterest in actually doing the job, Blitzo defends it by saying she's family. He also gives Loona gifts, although not all of them are well thought out such as one on the anniversary of her adoption being filled with spiders.
Season 1[]
Spring Broken[]
While driving back to the office, Blitzo is terribly singing to a song on the radio while Loona (sitting next to him) can only try to bear with it. This stops when Blitzo makes a hasty stop after seeing I.M.P.'s parking spot had been swiftly taken, and that the driver was his ex-girlfriend Verosika Mayday. From the van, Loona watches in amazement/shock at knowing Blitzo once dated - and is currently arguing with - one of Hell's biggest popstars. She also shows fear when she sees Verosika's bodyguard Vortex approach behind Blitzo menacingly while he's threatening Verosika. Once Verosika and Vortex enter the office complex, Loona - along with Moxxie and Millie - confront Blitzo about him dating the popstar, but he doesn't want to talk about it and instead wants Loona and Moxxie to go with him to deal with the parking problem.
In the complex, Loona is fretting about her makeup after thinking Verosika saw her. Blitzo tries to comfort her by saying she always looks perfect, to which she brushes him off and knocks him down - but not before nearly calling him dad. As she distractedly touches up her makeup, she bumps into Vortex and instantly becomes smitten with him. Getting up, Blitzo is overjoyed at Loona looking so happy, but that quickly becomes horror when he sees that it's Vortex. Blitzo asks him where Verosika is while protectively getting in front of Loona.
Later in the office, Blitzo is discussing with I.M.P. the plan to win the bet he made with Verosika: namely killing more humans than she and her posse can charm and have sex with at the end of the day for the parking spot. While Blitzo and Moxxie are arguing about the former's plan, Loona chimes in wanting to join in on the action. Hearing this, Blitzo vehemently vetoes the idea, citing the number of "freaks" that would want to drool over her. Loona counters by saying she can disguise herself as a human to hide herself, while also being annoyed that Blitzo and the others haven't been using them during their excursions to the mortal world. Regardless, this information makes Blitzo reconsider and not only agrees to let Loona come, but also restructures the plan so that she leads their targets to them.
With a list of targets in hand, I.M.P. travels to the mortal world and head for a beach where they're congregated. Upon Loona shifting into her human disguise, Blitzo is vocally appalled but quickly says it's perfect when Loona gives him a death glare. Regardless, Loona begins leading individual targets into spots where Blitzo, Moxxie, and Millie can kill them with the other humans none the wiser. The first guy Loona leads away nearly tries to grope her, but Blitzo quickly kills him with a sniper round before giving her a thumbs up. Another tries to run towards Loona, only for Blitzo to put them in a noose and hang him.
By the time I.M.P. has killed nine of their targets, Verosika arrives and launches a massive concert that begins seducing humans. Incensed at Verosika's appearance, Blitzo tells I.M.P. to pick up the pace with the kills, forcefully asking a distracted Loona if a vomiting guy next to him is one of the targets, which she confirms. After bifurcates the guy's head, however, Blitzo suddenly notices that Loona had disappeared, which breaks him out of his anger as he distressingly cries out for "his baby". Millie manages to find Loona, and it makes Blitzo angry again since she's talking with a disguised Vortex.
Reaching Loona and Vortex, Blitzo gets between them and asks what Loona is doing that's more important than her job. Now furious at Blitzo, Loona accuses him of butting into her personal life like he always does. Blitzo tries to use the excuse that he adopted her, but Loona angrily says it shouldn't count and she doesn't need him now. Upon realizing what she just said, however, Loona tries to apologize only for Blitzo to angrily leave so he can continue killing their targets. Vortex, having been passive in the argument, compliments Loona for standing up for herself, with her claiming that Blitzo would get over the whole thing. Blitzo and Loona separately witness a massive fish - transformed by Verosika's flask of Beelzejuice - terrorize the beach and Millie slaying it to save a drunk Moxxie. As I.M.P. heads back home after Verosika admits defeat to save face, Loona can only trudge back to the portal after remembering what she said to Blitzo during the argument as well as learing that Vortex was already dating someone.
The Harvest Moon Festival[]
Loona is brought by Blitzo to the Wrath Ring in order for her, Moxxie, and Millie to attend the annual Harvest Moon Festival on the request of Stolas. When Millie introduces her parents to them as "her boss and his hellhound", they react in indignation with Blitzo saying she's his daughter (on paper, as Loona reminds him). The two go on to watch Moxxie attempt - and fail - to wrangle a hell hog, with Blitzo "cheering" him on and Loona recording the whole thing (a video Blitzo wants sent to him). They then join Striker - the farmhand that goaded Moxxie and ultimately killed the hog - in helping skin the catch, leaving Moxxie and Millie to handle things on their end.
Following the Pain Games - the competition of the Festival to determine Wrath's strongest - Blitzo learns of Striker attempting to assassinate Stolas and moves to help Moxxie with subduing him. During the ensuing fight, he tries to get Loona - who's outside the cottage where the fight is happening - to ambush Striker by whistling, but she decidedly ignores him. It's only when Striker is already being held at gunpoint when Loona finally enters, and the way she does allows Striker to escape.
Truth Seekers[]
During a job in the mortal world, I.M.P. gets ambushed by a human organization called D.H.O.R.K.S. that has been monitoring their activities on Earth. When he realizes one of the agents is near the portal back home, Blitzo tells Loona to close it, even though it causes him and Moxxie to be captured. In the office, Millie is furiously telling Loona to open the portal again, but Loona tells her that Blitzo was being serious with his order and isn't going to open it. Ultimately, however, Loona and Millie return to the mortal world only to find the boys gone. Using her smell, Loona leads Millie to where Blitzo and Moxxie are.
Breaking in to D.H.O.R.K.'s HQ, Loona and Millie manage to find and release the two, having been interrogated and subjected to the group's truth serum during the search. Blitzo is shocked that Loona is there, but she tells them all to go before more agents show up, but not before handing him and Moxxie their weapons. When one of the gathered agents throws a kusarigama at Blitzo, Loona catches it in her mouth, prompting the four to begin massacring the agents. During the fight, Blitzo and Loona end up fighting together, though Blitzo briefly pauses to dote over how proud he is of how Loona is doing. The four eventually manage to reach the exit but find it closed off and surrounded by agents without any more weapons and without Loona being able to read the grimoire due to the lack of light. It's only thanks to the intervention of Stolas that I.M.P. is finally able to escape.
Season 2[]
Seeing Stars[]
On an otherwise ordinary day, after procrastinating on it for quite some time, Blitzo finally sits Loona down and has a discussion with her about her attitude towards clients. She doesn't take this well and begins chasing him around the office while also challenging her father to replace her if she's such a problem. With silent encouragement from Moxxie (who's watching it all along with Millie), Blitzo finally says he'll consider doing that before ordering her back to the desk, which Loona angrily complies with. As Moxxie tries to reinforce that Blitzo is making a good choice on bringing the hammer down on Loona, they are suddenly interrupted when a bright flash comes from Blitzo's office - which turns out to be Stolas' daughter Octavia using her father's grimoire to go to Earth. Loona, still bitter about the earlier discussion, nonchalantly points out she knew Octavia was there.
After Stolas becomes informed about the situation, Loona manages to find out via scent that Octavia went to the mortal city of Los Angeles. With this information, Blitzo brings Loona through Stolas' personal portal and conscripts her into helping the search for Octavia. Before they can begin the search, however, the two get forcibly separated when some human tourists mistake Blitzo for actor Brennon Ragers and, as a result, he gets caught by Hollywood agents. As he and Stolas (who implicated himself as Ragers' agent) are being taken away to the set of a TV series Ragers was apparently guest-starring in, Blitzo manages to spot Loona fighting off some of the crowd and tell her to find Octavia, to which she responds by flipping him off as he says Octavia is in good hands.
On the TV shoot Blitzo was forced into, he finds himself being asked by a little girl if she could adopt a dog he has on leash that his character was thinking of giving up. This causes Blitzo, already silently suffering the stress of acting for the first time since his time in the circus, to flashback to when he adopted Loona and recall how sad she was about being cast aside. This makes Blitzo break character and claim the dog as his own before going on a rampage that ends with the sound stage going up in flames. Reuniting with Stolas, a now determined Blitzo tells him it's time to find their daughters before leaving.
Meanwhile, Loona finally manages to find Octavia at an observatory - upset that her wish to see a meteor shower is ruined with the sky too full of smog to see anything. When Octavia angrily claims that her father hates his ex-wife - her mother - more than he likes her to the point he wasn't there, Loona - pulling from her experiences with her father - interjects that all dads make mistakes but still care for their children and that Stolas is in the city looking for her as they speak. Looking to a lighter with I.M.P.'s logo in her hand, Loona smiles as she claims that Stolas was trying to be a father and that should be enough.
Loona and Octavia reunite with their fathers in an alleyway via portal. Blitzo - remembering what he said back in the office and his experience on the set - tearfully rushes to hug Loona, saying he'll never replace her, only for her to kick him in the groin. Blitzo tries to hug her again, resulting in the grimoire getting smacked on his face. A second later, they witness fireworks going off overhead alongside Stolas and Octavia.
Western Energy[]
After a five-year wait, Blitzo takes Loona to the Sloth Ring so that she can get her Hellbies vaccine. She's terrified of the shot but Blitzo is determined to get it done due to how long they had to wait to get it scheduled, not even the news of Stolas being kidnapped dissuades him. Once in the doctor's office, Loona's fear becomes anger as the actual shot is brought out and she begins beating both Blitzo and the doctor in an effort to stop them from administering it. In response, Blitzo tries to hold down Loona - while apologizing to her for it. Blitzo finally manages to buy the doctor enough time for the shot to be given, but Loona is not happy about it.
Fanon[]
Blitzoona is a very popular ship for the Helluva Boss fandom. Blitzo's fatherly doting towards Loona shows fans just how much he cares for her. On the flipside, despite how much she tries to hide it in the series, fans take equal notice of how much Loona appreciates Blitzo caring for her like an actual father despite her usually abrasive personality. With the premiere of Seeing Stars, it's becoming all the more obvious to fans of the ship that Loona is warming up to Blitzo being her father, and that it's helping her grow as a person. Fanworks focusing on this ship tend to focus on the two trying to finally end the friction between them.
On AO3, Blitzoona is the most written ship for Loona and the second most written for Blitzo. It is also the fourth most written ship in the Helluva Boss (Web Series) tag. There are currently 600+ written works.
