Canon[]
The Tragedy[]
Din takes Grogu to Tython when he sees a ship in above the planet. Din uses the Radar on his helmet and sees someone exit the ship when it lands. He assumes the person is after them and goes down to hold them off while Grogu concentrates on using the force. As he makes his way down, he is suddenly fired upon and takes cover. A man steps out and says that he's been tracking Din, who asks if he's a Jedi or after the child. The man says that he's here for armor, and Din says that if he wants it he'll have to kill him first. The man says that he's not here for Din's armor, but his. The one Din got from Cobb Vanth. Din asks if he's Mandalorian, and the man says that he's just a simple man making his way through the galaxy. Like his father before him. Din asks if he took the creed, and the man says that he give his allegiance to no one. Din says that the armor belongs to the Mandalorians, but the man says that the armor was his fathers, and now it's his. Din asks why he shouldn't shoot him, and the man says that he has a sniper that will fire. Din says that he's wearing beskar, and the man says that it's not aimed at Din, but Grogu. Din then lights up his launchers and the man says that they can all put the weapons down and chat.
They all drop their weapons, and the sniper, Fennec, comes down to join the two. Din thought she was dead, but the man, Boba, was able to rescue her. Now she serves him. Boba wants the armor, but Din says that it's against the Mandalorian creed. Boba says that the armor was given to his father, and Boba will guarantee Grogu's safety in exchange for it. A ship then passes over and Din rushes back to Grogu.
When Grogu is taken and the razer crest is destroyed, Din only finds a beskar spear in the wreckage. He comes over to Fennec and Boba, who shows him that his code has been in the armor, proving that it's his. As well as his father's code in the armor. Din asks if his father was a foundling and Boba confirms this. Din says that the armor does belong to him and Boba appreciate's its return. Din assumes the deal is complete, but Boba says that their deal is for the safety of the child. Din says that Grogu is gone, and Boba says that until Grogu is back with Din they're in his debt.
The Rescue[]
Boba and Din enter the cantina and easily find Bo-Katan. Din informs her that Moff Gideon took Grogu, but Bo says that he'll never find him. Boba says that they don't need them, and should leave, but Bo stops them when she hears Boba's voice. She says he's not a Mandalorian, and Boba says that he never said he was. Din says that he can take Bo to Gideon and help her get the cruiser to regain Mandalore. Boba says that the Empire turned Mandalore to glass, then gets into a fight with Bo's underling when she brings up he's a clone.
In the Name of Honor[]
Din arrives at the blown out Casino where Boba and Fennec are, and tells them that Cobb will help in exchange for getting rid of the spice trade. Boba agrees to it, but Fennec points out all the credits they'll lose. Boba thinks that it's better in the long run and tells Din to tell Cobb that he will keep his word. Din says to tell him himself when he arrives and Boba asks if he's confident he will come. Din is and Boba says that they're doomed if he doesn't.
When the paradise is surrounded, Din informs Boba, who says that it was just a matter of time. He asks if Bane is with him, but Din doesn't see him. He asks if there's any word on the others, but Boba thinks it would be a miracle if they survived will all three crime families turning on them. Din says it was the smart move and Boba agrees. Boba assumes Din will be heading out, but Din says that he's not. Boba says that Din should, but Din says it's against the creed. He gave his word, he's with Boba till they both fall. Boba asks if Din really buys into that and Din says that he does. Boba says that's good. Din thinks they have two options right now, fight on the Pyke's terms or ambush them in a siege till they can get to Boba's ship in the palace. Boba says that he can't abandon Mos Espa, since the people are counting on him. Din says that they'll both die in the name of honor and Boba asks if he's sure he'll stay. Din says that this is the way, and is about to step out when the majordomo steps forward with an idea.
The two use the majordomo as a distraction, and launch a surprise attack on the Pyke's. They're almost pinned down when the people of Freetown arrive and start firing on the Pyke's. When the droids arrive, the two have their allies retreat so they can distract them. Din pulls out the Darksaber to try and get through the forcefields, but he can't get through. Din says he'll distract him, when Boba yells to watch out and pushes him out of the way of the droids fire. Boba says that they need reinforcements, and Din asks from where since Boba's run out of friends. Boba just tells him to protect the others and flies off
