BouquetShipping is the slash ship between Flowey and Cagney Carnation from the Undertale and Cuphead fandoms.

Canon

Flowey and Cagney are both sentient flowers with faces, though Flowey was a genetic experiment while Cagney is all but implied to have been created naturally. Both are among the first characters the player meets, Flowey is the very first character met in the underground, Cagney is one of the bosses fought on Inkwell Isle One. Both play an antagonistic role in their game, Flowey is the closest thing Undertale has to an antagonist, Cagney is one of the many debtors the brothers had to fight to reclaim their souls from the Devil. Both pretend to be friendly and cute, but quickly show their true colors when fought. Both have the option to grow more monstrous in their fights, though Flowey had to absorb power from an outside source while Cagney merely gets angrier. Both value their life with their soul playing a major part in their motivations, Flowey is the only known living creature without one and became amoral over time due to a lack of consequences, Cagney had sold his soul to the Devil and does not want the two brothers to take his soul contract. Both are also shown to enjoy laughing at their opponent's misery.

Fanon

BouquetShipping was first shipped in 2017, the same year as Cuphead's official release. Many had noted similarities between Flowey and Cagney when all they had was a trailer showing him fighting the brothers. Though it was initially met with confusion, with some wondering if the two of them being flowers is the only reason they're shipped, shippers had been won over by the wholesome interactions they were depicted in. Tumblr blogger determination-and-familiars (now known as "familiarstale") then christened the pairing as "BouquetShipping". They had since become the most active shipper of the pairing for both tumblr and Deviantart.

Familiarstale had come with a number of headcanons about the pairing, starting with the idea that it is mostly shipped in an AU with Flowey as a grown adult to make romance between them uncontroversial. Since all flowers are biologically capable of pollinating with oneanother, familiarstale had created some fankids for the pairing. The AU also had Flowey capable of regaining his soul, accepting the idea of being trapped as a flower and being adopted by a human family on the surface, to explain how he could've met Cagney. When Flowey first met him, they start as kindred spirits, with Flowey liking the idea of having someone who could relate to his problems. It then grows into a friends-to-lovers dynamic, with Cagney flirting with Flowey, the AU states that Flowey initially dismissed these as a joke. But he would soon realize that he reciprocates Cagney's feelings and they themselves wouldn't know if they are already dating or not. It would happen that they would accidentally pollinate oneanother while acting affectionate towards each, resulting in a seed being dropped to the ground of Cagney's garden. When Flowey visits the next time, he has a panic attack, but Cagney offers to keep their child in his home as Flowey fears that he would accidentally get it killed. Eventually, Flowey reluctantly settles in a parental role to his daughter, filling her in about their extended family and the world Flowey originated from.
