Brasskeys is the slash ship between Sir Pentious and St. Peter from the Hazbin Hotel fandom.
Canon[]
A month after Pentious arrived in Heaven as a redeemed soul, but gets accused of breaking into Heaven by Sera, St. Peter gets questioned if he was the one who let him in. Peter was just as confused as Pentious, and after Peter looks briefly at the scared Pentious, he swears upon the Speaker that he didn't let him in, Emily backs him on this from being an eye witness to Pentious's ascension; despite Sera's denial of it. Luckily the Speaker of God arrives and clears things up, once it was confirmed that Pentious's sacrifice had him atone for the sin that sent him to Hell, St. Peter starts to warm up to him. Now knowing that Pentious is a redeemed soul that Heaven is duty bound to care for and not a sinner meaning them harm, Peter says that Pentious has good vibes. Peter then listens to Abel say how Sir Pentious's afterlife name is a clever way to make it sound like serpent.
Afterwords St. Peter joins Emily and Abel in showing Pentious the many fun things Heaven has to offer, while being kind and friendly towards him. The "Like You" song gives Peter a brief one to one moment with Pentious, as he explains the Christmas films Heaven has in its cinema; before they go in to watch one with the others. With Pentious sitting right next to Peter, while Abel and Emily sandwich the two. Though Pentious wasn't interested in any of the things Peter or the others showed him, with Heaven being very different from Hell and just wants to see his friends again. Peter failed to notice this until he, Emily and Abel see Pentious curling up into a ball to cry, after failing to escape Heaven by shooting himself, having the angel trio think they have over done it. Peter then leaves with Abel, to attend a meeting with Sera, while Emily stays with Pentious. Peter's role of watching the pearly gates prevents him from spending any more time with Pentious afterwards.
Fanon[]
Brasskeys is one of the rarepairings in the Hazbin Hotel fandom, with a very small of people supporting the ship long before Pentious and Peter had their first canon interaction in the second episode of season two. Sir Pentious ascending into Heaven at the end of season one is what gave people the idea, as it meant that he'll be able to meet St. Peter, and some people have headcannon him as one of Emily's allies in helping redeemed souls like Pentious. Brasskeys is still overshadowed by CherriSnake, from being canon, and HolyGates has been gaining attention ever since the existence of Abel was revealed in a Twitter post during Christmas 2024. After a sneak peek image of Pentious being surrounded by Peter, Emily and Abel was released, some people began to see St. Peter as one of Pentious's guardian angels.
The ship's title, Brasskeys is a reference to the brass metal that Victorian inventors like Pentious are known to use, while the "keys" part of the title is a nod to Peter's role of watching over the pearly gates.
Because of how small the ship is, however, it is mostly supported on Tumblr. Though AO3 does have one single gen fanfic of the two.
