Briar Siblings is the family ship between Yor and Yuri Briar from the Spy x Family fandom.

Canon

Yor and Yuri are sibling who were born in Eastern Nielsberg. Yor is seven years older than Yuri. Their parents died when they were both children, leaving them in a very bad economic situation. After that, Yor had to take a job as an assassin to keep her and her brother safe. Thanks to this, Yor was able to do the best for her brother, buying him books to study and feeding him. Even though Yor's food tasted bad, he continued eating it while he vomited. He still greatly loves her cooking, even as an adult.

As Yor was working and fighting for him all his life, Yuri began to develop a strong sister complex. He wants to repay her for what she did for him by doing the same for her; protecting her and making her happy. Eventually, he begins working at the SSS, hoping that Yor will be proud of him. He keeps this a secret from his sister, as he doesn't want her to end up in danger due to his work. Yor believes that Yuri simply works for the Foreign Ministry.

After Yuri finds out about his sister's "wedding", he begins to be much more protective to his sister. He is afraid that Loid would do something bad to him or hurt Yor. Eventually, when Yuri visits the Forgers, he attempts to analyze Loid to "unmask" him and show that he is not worthy of his sister. However, what Yuri really feels is envy of Loid, feeling that he is taking his sister away from him or that he takes care of her better than him. Yuri also shows contempt for Loid and Yor's adoptive daughter, Anya. This likely plays into his fear that Yor has found another family and has replaced him.

Briar Siblings is a well liked family ship in the fandom. However, it is somewhat controversial due to some fans being annoyed with Yuri's sister complex and his possessive behavior towards her. Some fans still enjoy their sibling bond for how they deeply care for each other. On AO3, the ship currently has 100+ works, being the most written ship for Yuri.

Romantic

There is a group of fans who believe that Yuri's feelings on Yor are more than platonic, and that he actually has a crush on her. Some people even have paralleled that with Fiona's crush on Loid. However, most fans strongly want to avoid that idea of their relationship, believing that it is just a sister complex. Even those who believe that Yuri does have a crush on Yor choose not to include it in their fanfiction or fan art. Some people feel uncomfortable with Yor and Yuri's relationship because of that.
