Bronseele is the femslash ship between Bronya Zaychik and Seele Vollerei from the Honkai fandom.

Bronya and Seele are two orphans who grew up together in Cocolia's Orphanage alongside Rozaliya Olenyeva, Liliya Olenyeva and Sin Mal. In January 2012, when Bronya was a child soldier, she was taken in by Cocolia after being caught on a mission to assassinate her. Seele was the first person she met at the orphanage and they were put together as roommates, becoming close since then.
Shortly after Bronya's enrolment, Seele was kidnapped but then saved by Bronya who had killed everyone there. This incident was also when the Stigmata in Seele, Veliona, had fully awoken, causing Seele to become more scared at the dark voice in her head and seemingly call Bronya a demon. Because of this, Bronya promised to never hurt anyone again for Seele's sake. However, Veliona was amused by her fighting skills.
In the following year, Bronya and Seele were reading a book together when Seele mentioned she had never seen the sea. She asked what it was like and Bronya described it as "just like Seele's eyes." They made a promise to go to the beach in the next week and that Bronya could teach her how to swim.
When Seele found out about the life-threatening X-10 experiment, she demanded that Cocolia let her take Bronya's place as a test subject to keep her safe. The experiment was going well until Seele vanished and Veliona took control to let her see Bronya for one last time. She reappeared outside the labs with a scythe and when she got to the orphanage to see Bronya, her body started fading and she finally reduced to a quantum state with no way of being able to be brought back. Bronya was left in their room holding a hairpin she had left behind, crying. When Cocolia came back, Bronya threatened to take her own life if she didn't let her also take part in the experiment to see Seele. Cocolia had no choice but to let her.
Main Story[]
Since then, Bronya met Kiana and Mei and enrolled in St. Freya High with them. Though she was content, Bronya never forgot her promise and longed to reunite with Seele again.
In Chapter 3, Bronya empathizes with Wendy, a Valkyrie who is immobile like her because of having the Gem of Desire implanted in her. The Gem feeds on her resentment towards Schicksal, transforming Wendy into Herrscher of the Wind. Bronya talks Wendy down by telling her that she reminds her of Seele, whom she describes as strong, kind, and able to become herself again after being corrupted by the Honkai.
Under the Deep[]
Bronya goes to the Quantum Sea through the Eye of the Deep in order to retrieve the Gem of Desire. There, she finds Joachim, a shadow of Welt Yang. As part of Joachim's trials for entering deeper into the Sea, Bronya is transported to an alternate bubble world as a student of a different St. Freya, where Cocolia is her teacher. Bronya is assigned a mission, shocked to see that one of her teammates is Seele. Seele looks taken aback, curiously looking at Bronya, then introduces herself. Bronya is disappointed to see that this Seele doesn't know her but berates herself for expecting anything else.
As they work together, Bronya notices that this Seele seems to know everything about the mission, easily identifying where the stolen assets are being hidden. The team finds out that this "asset" is a young boy, Joachim, who is the 1st Herrscher. Bronya and Seele are tasked to evacuate Joachim, but Seele tells Bronya that they mustn't leave him to Schicksal, or they will end up where they started, again and again. In face of Bronya's hesitation, Veliona takes control and summons a Quantum Shadow, which Bronya defeats. Seele, knowing it is impossible for people of this world to defeat a Quantum Shadow, widens her eyes in realization. Bronya, noting Seele's weird behavior from the start, also realizes that this Seele is the one from her world. They embrace with tears in their eyes, elated to have finally found each other.
After their reunion, Seele explains that in an effort to find Bronya, she opened a door and found herself in this bubble world. Whether or not she failed or succeeded the mission, Seele was caught in a time loop. Bronya comforts Seele and tells her she knows what to do now. Bronya tells Cocolia that they can't send Joachim back to HQ because he is being subject to inhumane experiments; rather, they should enroll him in St. Freya and give him a choice over his destiny. Cocolia agrees, and Seele is shocked and relieved that the world didn't reset again. Passing Joachim's trial, Bronya is sent back in the Quantum Sea but only with Seele's journal. She asks Joachim about Seele. He explains that Seele has a unique ability to drift across the Sea, so perhaps that was a fragment of her. Seele's journal, however, can serve as a link between them and guide her. Bronya holds the journal close, telling Seele to wait for her.
In the second bubble world, Bronya sees alternate versions of Otto, Theresa, and Joachim at a funeral for a child. She wonders if Seele is here, and Seele appears behind her to take her hand. They head to the cabin together, realizing that this place is an orphanage. While gathering firewood, they notice that this world seems unstable. Bronya tells Seele not to push herself too hard, but Seele assures that she wants to share Bronya's burden. Seele comments that the orphanage in this world reminds her of when they were happy together in their orphanage, but in this one the children seem distant from each other. They ask Theresa about Joachim, and learn of the complicated history between Joachim and Otto in this world. Joachim's past reminds Bronya of her complicated relationship with Cocolia. Seele notices that Bronya is troubled and asks if she's alright. Bronya is unable to respond, so Seele takes her hand and comforts her. As Bronya walks away after, Seele's smile falls and Veliona commends her for being a step closer to their objective. She assures Seele that they are doing the right thing, that it must be done in order to return home with Bronya. Bronya eventually solves the issues of this world and returns to the labyrinth. She is determined to solve the last world and be able to reach Seele.
Bronya deals with the third bubble world, where Seele and Veliona watch. Seele is unable to go through with the last part of their plan because she knows Bronya won't agree. Veliona reminds her that they made a deal with something, and they can't protect Bronya if Seele can't even protect herself. Veliona takes full control of the body and meets Bronya in the Quantum Sea, who is relieved that Seele is alright. They find the Herrscher Core of Reason. Bronya quickly notices that this Seele is not her Seele, so Veliona introduces herself. She asks Bronya to give her the Core of Reason so that they may return to the real world. but Bronya objects saying that she will bring Seele back through the Eye of the Deep. Veliona replies that this won't work as Seele has become part of the Sea. She reveals that an entity had saved them earlier, and in return they are supposed give it the Core of Reason and break the barrier between the Sea and reality. Bronya knows that this must have been the Serpent, and that they can't accept its request. However, Veliona is determined to leave and won't let anyone stop her, not even Bronya. The two fight, and Veliona is able to defeat her and cast her back to the labyrinth.

Plain of Vigrid[]
Bronya enters deeper into the Sea of Quanta and communicates with Welt, whose consciousness is in the Herrscher Core. Welt says that they must stop the Serpent from using the Gem of Desire to break the barrier between the Sea of Quanta and reality. Bronya is also resolved to stop the Serpent in order to save Seele. Seele, meanwhile, was not transported to the Void, but to what seems to be another bubble world with events from the Previous Era.
After witnessing the tragedy caused by the Herrscher of Corruption in the Previous Era, Seele exits the bubble world to find the Serpent, Kevin Kaslana, on the other side. Bronya enters and places herself in front of Seele to protect her. They confront Kevin, but he manages to disable Bronya's Herrscher power and leave the Quantum Sea. Bronya and Seele rush to find a way out as the space around them starts collapsing. Bronya tells her that she will fulfil her promise. Seele replies that she knows, and that she'll go home with her and stay with her forever.

Bronya and Seele grew up in different areas of Belobog, with Bronya being the supreme guardian's daughter in the Overworld, and Seele growing up in the impoverished Underworld. The Supreme Guardian Cocolia abandoned the Underworld years ago, causing resentment to grow between the two areas.
Bronya and Seele first meet after Sampo accidentally brings Bronya to the Underworld while trying to save the Astral Express trio. Bronya gets in trouble with some vagrants due to her status as a Silvermane guard, but Seele saves her, criticizing the vagrants for causing trouble in Wildfire territory. Bronya assumes that Seele is responsible for kidnapping her and taking her to the Underworld. Seele huffs, taking Bronya to be a spoiled "Overworld princess." She tells Bronya she has it easy and criticizes the Silvermane guards for leaving the Underworld. Bronya replies that the Madam Guardian has her reasons and Seele scoffs, ending the conversation there. She takes the trio and Bronya to go see Wildfire chief Oleg.
On the way, they encounter many obstacles such as the robot Svarog and his minions. Seele makes occasional jabs at Bronya, but they work together under a shared goal. After meeting Oleg, the Trailblazer can tell Bronya that she and Seele work well together, to which Bronya replies that it's just her military training allowing her to coordinate well with other fighters. When the Trailblazer goads that there's more to it, Bronya admits that Seele is talented and they work well together, but that's all there is to it. When talking to Seele, she is impressed that Bronya is the leader of the Silvermane Guards; she thought the Silvermane Guards were all unfeeling people who let the Underworld perish, but Bronya doesn't give off that impression.
Before the defeat of Cocolia, Seele takes Bronya to the balcony of the orphanage in Rivet Town to chat. Seele talks about the street on Rivet Town that the two are looking upon, describing it as the place of her past, where she'd play with her friends and get into fights with thugs before meeting Oleg. Bronya comments that her upbringings sounded nice before sincerely apologizing for her wording and recognizing how life in the Underworld is difficult. She expresses how she envies Seele, telling her how for as long as she could remember, her life as the supreme guardian's daughter made her feel trapped: an endless cycle of studying, etiquette lessons, and battle training, full of choices and goals already set for her. Seele acknowledges that she indeed can't know how that sort of life would feel like.
Seele says how she never thought she'd be having a deep conversation with the future leader of Belobog, explaining how she believed all Overworlders to be cold snobs. Bronya tells her how before the Underworld was sealed off from the Overworld, there was no difference between the two regions, as both ate the same food, talked about the same topics, and celebrated the same festivals. She recognizes how the ties between people must be the things that still connect them both. Bronya begins to formulate an idea as to bridging the gap between the two worlds in order to go back to a time where both her and Seele were not divided, just as they stood side by side against the Eternal Freeze and Fragmentum (disasters caused by the stellaron). Seele states that she's not like Bronya in the sense that she doesn't have any grand plans for the future, but if that was the future that Bronya desired, she would be willing to build this bridge with her. Bronya's voice becomes soft as she thanks Seele, stating how Seele's trust is very important to her. Seele becomes flustered and blushes, turning to face away from Bronya before redirecting the conversation back to plans for the present situation.
Bronya questions why her mother wanted her to hunt down the Underworlders who knew about the nature of the stellaron, causing Seele to become uncertain, concerned for Bronya's safety. Bronya states that this plan of hers was for Seele, asking her to pass this information onto the Astral Express Crew if they are unable to meet again. Seele tells Bronya that she understands that she's made up her mind, and that there's nothing she can say that'll change it. However, she wants Bronya to remember that if she runs into trouble, she'll come to save her, no matter what. Bronya responds with a gentle expression, telling Seele that in that case, she'll be waiting for her.
In the Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities event, the Trailblazer is tasked with reviving the museum by managing it and asking characters within the game to help volunteer at the museum. When the Trailblazer goes to Seele to ask her to volunteer there, she notes how Bronya seems to have mentioned that before, asking the Trailblazer if she sent them to fetch Seele. If the Trailblazer says that Bronya sent them there, Seele sighs and states how stubbron Bronya is when it comes to odd things such as volunteering. She then explains how she believes that she isn't suited for the role, declining the request. The Trailblazer then dejectedly says how Bronya will be so sad about Seele's rejection, causing her to go silent. The Trailblazer can then ask Seele to reconsider for Bronya's sake, in which Seele sighs and reluctantly agrees, continuing on to fill in the application form with the Trailblazer's aid.
While Seele and the Trailblazer are at the museum in the Overworld to submit her application and wait for Pela to come and interview Seele as a volunteer, Bronya comes up behind Seele. Suprised, she asks what Seele was doing here, asking if the Trailblazer brought her here. If the Trailblazer chooses to say that Seele came here of her own volition, Bronya says how she's surprised that Seele's finally made up her mind and thanks her, suggesting that Seele didn't completely reject the idea of volunteering for the Museum when Bronya asked her to, comparitively different towards her response to the Trailblazer's request. Seele assumes that her application was rejected and asks to just leave, in which Bronya declines, saying that Pela was impressed by Seele's ability, wanting Bronya to have an interview with her. Bronya tells Seele and the Trailblazer to head with her to the rest area where they'll take the interview. Seele reluctantly agrees to play along, making the excuse that it's only because she's not busy today, in which Bronya thanks Seele.
During the start of the interview, both Bronya and Seele remain quiet, causing the Trailblazer to be able to ask if they're having telepathically communicating. Seele denies it, but then questions if Bronya is actually trying to read Seele's mind. Bronya tells Seele how this is her first time speaking to her in an interviewing position and she doesn't know what to say. Seele suggests to end the interview there, saying it'd be better for the both of them. Bronya declines, saying that they must go through the entire process no matter what. She asks the Trailblazer what questions she should ask Seele as the interviewer. If the Trailblazer chooses to tell them to loosen up and just talk to each other like friends would, Bronya agrees to ask random questions based on the resume and says that this is also a great chance for her to get to know Seele better. Seele mutters "Don't we know each other well enough already..." hinting that they are closer than they appear to be at first glance.
The interview goes on, as Bronya inquires Seele about her name. She states that "Seele" itself isn't a common name in Belobog and asks Seele if it has a special meaning, to which Seele explains its origin. Bronya is surprised by its profound meaning and notes that its symbolism is fascinating. During Bronya's question about Seele putting "no comment" for her skills and expertise, she reassures Seele that her answer on the form would be put to use at the museum. Seele says that if there was a dispute at the museum, she would be able to resolve it, cauisng Bronya to disagree and suggests to in that case summon the Silvermane Guards. She reminds Seele that protecting her is one of Seele's duties now, and she can't just gratuitously get herself hurt.
At the end of the interview, Bronya passes Seele as a volunteer at the museum. If the Trailblazer states that the plot has thickened, Seele scoffs, stating that everything's fine as long as Bronya's happy. Bronya, unable to quite hear what Seele said, asks if she and the Trailblazer were having a secret talk. Bronya goes on to tell Seele to follow her later to go through some formalities for the position. She thanks the Trailblazer for their help in the interview, stating that she's now had the chance to get to know Seele better. She then asks to be excused, saying she has to take Seele to complete the procedure and asks of the Trailblazer to remember to visit the museum often and check on Seele. Bronseele is one of the most popular ships within the Honkai Impact 3rd fandom, especially considering that mutual feelings are apparent. The ship between Veliona and Bronya also falls under Bronseele, because Seele and Veliona are the same person. Though since Bronseele mainly pertains Bronya and Seele, BronVeli is used to differentiate the two. On AO3, Bronseele peaked as the second-most written ship in the HI3 tag, until it was overtaken by Sentihua on January 31, 2022. It is currently the 4th most written ship, with 155+ works.
Due to the release of a new game in the Honkai series, Honkai: Star Rail, Bronseele's popularity increased even more due to both of them being present in the game and having a lot of interactions together. Bronseele also have a new backstory together which gave their relationship a new layer. On AO3, Bronseele was the most written ship in the Honkai: Star Rail tag until it was overtaken by RenHeng in June 2023. It is currently the 9th most written ship, with 600+ works.
"Bronseele" is the officially adapted ship name by Westerners, and it is extremely rare to see any other ship name be used, whilst in the Eastern fandom "Bronseele" (ブロゼレ) is frequently used, "Seelebron" (ゼレブロ) is the more typically used ship name.
