Alfred tried to help Bruce with his trauma from that night, but Bruce was dead set to prevent something like that happening to another child, so Alfred decided to be supportive of this. Even though he doesn't fully agree with it, from how many times Bruce has come home injured since he became Batman. He understands that what Bruce was doing is noble and has managed to have done a lot of good, as both Bruce Wayne and Batman. In the Telltale universe, Alfred knew that Thomas Wayne wasn't the saint he made himself out to in the public eye and was prepared to leave Wayne manor for good, but before he could the police called to inform him what became of Bruce's parents. This has Alfred choosing to stay for Bruce and kept quite on his late father's criminal activities. Not wanting to destroy the image Bruce has of his parents, knowing how much they ment to him and because of the trauma he suffered from that night. Knowing that the truth would do more damage than good. Which is did when Bruce learns the darker hidden truth during a press conference, and Alfred knew that it was time Bruce is told what that truth is. Bruce was angry and shocked by this, but he doesn't blame Alfred for keeping it from him. Knowing that he was trying to protect him.

Fans of the Batman fandom have always seen Alfred as the man who raised Batman. From how he was always there for Bruce and helps to keep the Batfamily together. Many were sad when Alfred died in the comics, knowing how much he means to Bruce and the way Alfred became a second father to him.
Fans of the Gotham series loved the way it showcased moments between Alfred and a young Bruce. From how Bruce's child years in Alfred's guardianship care isn't explored that much, outside of flashback scenes or backstories that simply focus on those years.
