BruTatsu is the het ship between Bruce Wayne and Tatsu Yamashiro from the DC Comics and Young Justice fandoms.
Canon[]
Depending on the DC universe, comics and media the two have been featured in together, Katana is one of Batman's allies in his fight against the League of Assassins. With Tatsu being a former member of the league and Bruce wanting to stop them. Batman is also known for aiding the Outsiders team that Katana is part of, along with two of his young partners, Cass and Duke, being Outsiders themselves. Other times, however, the two are enemies who have faced each other more than once.

Before the start of the series Alfred had been trying to convince Tatsu Yamashiro to expect the job offer of being Bruce's bodyguard and driver. With Alfred wanting to keep Bruce safe and knows that Tatsu will not only protect Bruce, but would also serve as a viable alley to the Batman. Tatsu not wanting to become a "rich brat's" babysitter had her turn the offer down, until Alfred managed to convince her by saying "please," before the butler hurt his leg. Bruce wasn't very sure of Tatsu when they met and knew that while Alfred meant well when he hired her, Bruce didn't felt confirmable with sharing his secrets with her. After Bruce shows Tatsu a glimpse of his detective skills, from the way she was with Alfred, he realised that Tatsu's history and connection with Alfred was far more than just acquaintances from the service. Tatsu was taken back by this and realised that there is more to Bruce than meets the eye, as she keeps finding more reasons to uncover his secret once her loyalty tests began. Even though Bruce wasn't too keen on testing her after learning that she is Alfred's goddaughter, but after seeing how skilled she is in combat and agility, as well as how close she was to uncovering the Batcave he decided to give her a chance like Alfred subjected.
Tatsu had heard about the Batman and viewed him as a mad man, from the way he runs around Gotham dressed as a bat. Even though Alfred tells her other wise. Despite her thoughts about the vigilantly, the two were still able to work together when it came to fighting the League of Assassins. When Tatsu came close to killing one of them, Batman stops her from doing so and then tells her that she wouldn't be able to return from such an act, but her anger and history with the assassins only made her frustrated with the bat themed vigilantly. While having no idea that he is in fact Bruce, who was still testing Tatsu without her knowledge. Just as Bruce was wondering if he should trust Tatsu with his secret, she had been keeping secrets from him.
As part of her final test, Bruce pretended to know nothing about Tatsu's secrets and the put on an act of firing both her and Alfred. To see if she would come to Bruce's aid and then allow Batman to help her fight the League. Tatsu had believed that she had saw Bruce be killed right in front of her and was angry at Batman for not arriving on time to save him, along with him failing to help her keep the Soul Breaker sword from being reclaimed by the League of Assassins. She wanted to go after them to get it back, but Batman had her put it off for another day. With Tatsu passing the final test, Batman brings her to the Batcave where he reveals his identity to her and the plan behind his actions that day.
Despite seeing Tatsu in action, Bruce still wanted to keep her safe and got her to wear a protective suit that Tatsu could barely move in. Tatsu proves this by showing Bruce and Alfred that she can't lift a finger in it, before taking it all off. Tatsu reassures Bruce that she can handle herself on the field, and that she will be fine with only a sword and mask. Along with her asking Bruce to address her as "Katana" when they are fighting crime together. Even though Katana is a capable fighter, Bruce felt that she still needs to work on her detective skills and tries to help her home them. So she'll be able to solve the puzzles and clues that their enemies leave for them to solve.

BruTatsu is a very rare het ship between the two DC characters. Most of the ship's support comes from the Batman and the Outsiders comics and the Beware the Batman TV series, the later has Katana serve as Batman's partner and ally in place of the Robins. Bruce being Alfred's ward and Tatus portrayed as Alfred's goddaughter in the series, as well as the energy the two display in it, has also got people to view them having a sibling-like relationship. On AO3, there is currently 1 written work.
