Bubatchil is the poly ship between Bubble, Match and Pencil from the Battle for Dream Island fandom.
Canon[]
Battle for Dream Island[]
Match and Pencil are seen at the very beginning, gossiping to each other about Flower's fear of bugs. Match and Pencil yell at Ice Cube to stop squeezing Bubble before she pops. During the challenge, Bubble says that they, along with Pencil, should ally. Match says that it would be no harm. Pencil agrees.
Pencil chooses Match to be on the Squishy Cherries, Match says "Yah, they remembered" in response. Pencil told Pin to say Bubble, resulting in her joining their team. When the boat is completed, Bubble remarks to Match that it's "pretty boxy, but okay!!" Later in the challenge, Pencil and Match, along with Pen, are the oars of the challenge. Pencil tries to get Match to swim to the finish, but Match says she can't because she doesn't have any energy. Pencil, annoyed, leaves her.
Bubble tells Pencil that she was afraid of being popped earlier but is feeling better and doesn't think she will be popped, only to get popped much to Pencil's concern. Saying that their alliance needs to stick together, they wait for Pencil for the majority of the challenge. They later race with Bubble during the challenge. Bubble waits with Match for Pencil to come back from rescuing Blocky before starting the race. When Match complains that Pencil is taking a long time, Bubble tells her to be patient, since it's only been five minutes or so.
Pencil says that she likes ice cream cake and Bubble agrees. Match asks Pencil how she did in the test. Pencil says she drew a doodle, where she mentions "Match is my BFF." and "Bubble is a friend." When Bubble greets Pencil and Match as guys, Match angrily pops her and says "We're girls". Bubble doesn't hold it against her since killing her is easy. She later asks Match how she could kill her friend after she pops Bubble. Pencil concludes that Bubble is too dumb to count three. She and Match then rip up Bubble's test since they think she would fail anyway. Later Pencil and Match agree to rip up Bubble's test since they think she's dumb and would only fail.
Pencil seemed disappointed when finding out that Match got at least a vote. When Pencil attempts to prove to Match that she's hallucinating by turning into "Bubble", Match slaps Pencil, telling her not to do it again, and saying it is "K, R, E, P". Match and Pencil call Bubble dumb because she can't count to three, though it was only. After all, she kept dying before she could get to three. Pencil and Match are surprised when Bubble manages to count to three and come to the conclusion that she isn't dumb after she reaches eight. The three then decide to get to get some of Leafy's cakes for the challenge. When Bubble is preparing to present her cake to the Announcer, Match tells her "Good luck, not-dumb friend!" When Bubble scores lower than Coiny's dirt cake, Match consoles her by saying that Bubble bakes at a sub-dirt level.
When Bubble falls off the cliff due to the bridge breaking, Pencil jumps down to rescue her. When Pencil and Bubble fall into the gorge, Match jumps in because they "have to stick together".
They are all placed on the same team and place 3rd.
Match and Pencil are seen talking to each other in the beginning, with Pencil saying that she never got a vote to be eliminated, which Match finds amazing. Bubble tries to tell Pencil and Match about her vote status but is popped by the Announcer before she can finish. Pencil is angry at the Announcer for this. Match expresses elation over "only" having to carry Bubble. However, when it comes time to carry her, Match ends up holding on too hard and popping her. When Pencil accuses Announcer of murdering Bubble, Match acts indifferent. She carries Bubble more gently on the second try. When Match asks Pencil if she is really fat, Match slaps Pencil. Although, Pencil says she was just kidding.
Pencil calls Snowball out for killing Bubble. Pencil is glad that their alliance made it to the final 11, and Match says it's because they are amazing. They later work together to get a ball in the challenge. Pencil listens to Bubble vent about how mean Blocky is and calls him a murderer for popping her. Match and Pencil are happy when Bubble finds a ball. Pencil later asks who they're still waiting for to turn in their balls and Bubble answers Eraser and Ice Cube. When Bubble makes it out of the Danger Zone, it pushes Match into the Danger Zone, which makes her nervous.
Battle for Dream Island Again[]
Match and Pencil are seen at the beginning, insulting Ice Cube, calling her a "hideous menace" and saying that she made an "ugly face". They kick her out of the alliance. They later offer Ruby to join their alliance. Match then comes up with an idea to bring Bubble back to life by blowing bubbles and Pencil agrees.
Pencil gets worried when she realizes the entire alliance is not safe yet, but they end up being safe anyway, with 154, 172, and 176 dislikes respectively. Pencil and Match convince Ruby that they could have an alliance with all four of them. Match assures Ruby that the alliance can sustain all four of them. When Pencil recovers Bubble, Match comments that Pencil has no technique, and she replies that she was self-taught. Match asks Bubble if it's nice to be back and explains to Bubble that Ruby is in their alliance now. Bubble tells them that having an alliance with more than or equal to four members would cause them to split and become enemies, but Pencil shows her otherwise. Match tells Bubble to watch out for the flying shards of glass but she is popped anyway, making Match sad. She walks over to Tennis Ball and demands that he build a recovery center, since Bubble, among others, is dead. Pencil blows Bubble back to life. Pencil explains to Bubble that they shouldn't have to listen to the Book of BFDI Tips and Tricks because it's over a billion years old and was written by Golf Ball. Pencil is upset when Bubble ends up getting popped by a shard of glass.
Match and Pencil, along with Ruby, their new alliance member, are seen at the beginning. Match saves a frozen Firey who fell out of the Eiffel Tower, while Pencil saves a frozen Gelatin. When Fries reveals to the girls that he ate Spongy, they both cheer. Later, when Gelatin dies in his attempt to save Match from getting crushed by the HPRC, they talk about how terrible Gelatin is at life-saving. They later bring Bubble back to life together, but the first attempt fails. When Tennis Ball throws Pencil in the incinerator, Match says, "OMG, Golf Ball! You did not, just like, do that!", showing concern, until Golf Ball asks if she wants to go into the incinerator too. Pencil and Match scolded Bubble for dying immediately after they recovered her the first time. Bubble apologizes. When presented with the Hand-powered Recovery Center, the first person Match thinks to bring back is Bubble. Bubble immediately pops upon being recovered, so Match and Pencil angrily recover her again.
Battle for BFDI[]
Match questions about who keeps popping Bubble. Match goes with Pencil to find out who killed Bubble. Pencil also showed Match a new way to deal with their enemies, with Lightning. Bubble starts to feel like her alliance is changing when Pencil and Match cheer over Lightning zapping Spongy. Pencil gets mad at Bubble for telling Lightning to do what he thinks is right and demotes her to Bember, much to Bubble's sadness. When Pencil tells Lightning to go zap Fanny, Bubble tries to stop him but Pencil talks Bubble out of stopping Lightning by reminding her of her "bember" status in a very mocking way. Bubble lets go of Lightning reluctantly and cries as Fanny is electrocuted while Pencil grins at Fanny's suffering alongside Match. Both Pencil, Match, and Bubble are on the same team yet again, which is iance. During the contest, Match asks Bubble if she's thinking and tells her to stop so her heavy thoughts won't weigh her down while she jumps. Pencil, Match, and Bubble jumped with their team to try to win the contest, but failed, and were up for elimination.
Fanon[]
Bubatchcil has a decent following within the Battle for Dream Island fandom. The main reason those who do ship the pairing is because they started Freesmart together and have stuck together through most of the BFDI's challenges. The coupling rivals, some of the more well-known ships featuring them, are Matchcil (Match x Pencil) for Match and Fubble (Fanny x Bubble) for Bubble.
