Byakuya Togami is a character from the Danganronpa fandom.
Canon[]
Byakuya Togami, titled the Ultimate Affluent Progeny is a participant of the Killing School Life and the rival character to the protagonist in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and its anime adaptation, Danganronpa: The Animation. He went on to become one of the six survivors of the killing game.
While it appears that he returned as a participant of the Killing School Trip in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, it's later revealed that the Byakuya from this game was actually Ultimate Imposter. However, the real Byakuya Togami returns in the final chapter, along with Makoto Naegi and Kyoko Kirigiri. The trio returns so that, along with the five survivors, they'd have eight people - half of the initial group and a minimum required to initiate Forced Shutdown.
He makes another appearance in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls where he gives Komaru Naegi a special megaphone created by the Future Foundation, which is able to shoot hacking codes and thus destroy the Monokumas running amok. Quickly afterwards, he gets captured by the Warriors of Hope and becomes a hostage used to blackmail Toko Fukawa into bringing Komaru Naegi back to their headquarters so that the latter can become the successor to Junko Enoshima, as well as to force a sadistic choice on Toko as well, forcing her to choose between her beloved Master's safety or starting a war with the Future Foundation by having the heads of the Monokids explode. He gets rescued by the two main heroines in the Epilogue.
While he's not a participant of the Final Killing Game in Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy/Future Arc, he is a recurring character, trying to save his friends from another killing game. He makes a cameo appearance in one episode of Despair Arc, where Class 78 is shown to barricade themselves inside Hope's Peak Academy, although he's not shown doing any manual labour. He also appears in Hope Arc, along with the other survivors of each killing game. Six months later, he's shown working to restore Hope's Peak Academy, along with his friends and Future Foundation members.
Although he doesn't appear in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony (excluding through Tsumugi Shirogane's cosplays), he makes an appearance in the non-canon bonus mode, Ultimate Talent Development Plan, much like every other character of the main games.
