CDRW is the slash ship between Chromedome and Rewind from the Transformers fandom.
Canon[]
Chromedome and Rewind are the couple with the most panel time showcasing their affection for one another. And once their relationship is stable in the series, they are seen holding hands and saying loving things to each other almost all the time. Chromedome used to be a forensic officer who worked with Prowl, until he eventually became a mnemosurgeon. He specializes in reading memories and he can even tamper with them. In fact, since the three other bots he married in the past died, the pain was so great for him that he would erase his own memories of them. Rewind, on the other hand, is an archivist with a video camera on his head so that he is always ready to record.
They meet each other in a very depressing setting. In fact, Chromedome is in line at a suicide clinic for bots who can't handle the war anymore, waiting to be euthanized. when he suddenly hears a scream. That turns out to be Rewind's scream, who was looking everywhere for his love Dominus Ambus, who disappeared mysteriously, at the time. Rewind has resorted to looking in places where bots die, which is where he meets Chromedome. Since being unintentionally saved by Rewind, the two of them become good friends.
As the two of them developed their relationship, however, Dominus becomes a conflict between him because Chromedome feels that he is the second most important bot to Rewind, and fears being pushed out if Rewind ever finds Dominus again. But for Rewind's sake, he puts full effort into helping Rewind find his lost love.
Their relationship gets explored further in More Than Meets The Eye, when the two board the Lost Light. But their relationship is not yet perfect, since it gets very dramatic. Chromedome's profession as a mnemosurgeon is dangerous for his health. The more he does it, the harder it is to recover from. Rewind is upset by this, and makes Chromedome promise to stop. But Chromedome continuously breaks his promise each time he's called upon to investigate someone's memories. And it gets worse as a huge event leaves Chromedome with the belief he has lost Rewind forever. Chromedome is very depressed, but does not erase his memories this time, which will turn out to be a good thing when Rewind returns.
Chromedome and Rewind take time before becoming an openly affectionate couple when Rewind returns, with little touching, still some arguments and Rewind not being yet comfortable sharing a room with Chromedome. Eventually, they get past that and become the ship's lovebird, so publicly affectionate that it even makes Cyclonus' spark ache.

CDRW is one of the most popular ships within the Transformers fandom. It's one of the most popular ships of the IDW series. Many fans love how "lovey dovey" and clingy the two of them are. Some fans cite this couple, alongside Anode and Lug, as the reason why they found out about the Transformers comics and started getting more and more interested in the series.
