Cactiflower is the slash ship between Kel and Basil from the Omori fandom.

Canon

Kel and Basil are childhood friends. Kel is seen defending Basil a lot when Aubrey and her friends (the Hooligans) bully Basil. When Basil gets pushed down by Kim, Kel and Sunny fight. Kel and Sunny walk Basil home and he asks them to get their photo album back. Kel agrees and tells Basil that there still friends. Kel tells Basil that they got the photo album back. The two are shown to be on good terms as well in the dreamworld. Kel was worried when Basil was missing. Kel says that they should look through the photo album together. Basil agrees to this. Some of the photos are missing but Kel tells Basil not to worry.

In the two days left, Kel says that he hopes Basil is alright after the day before. When Kel and Sunny look for Basil, Aubrey argues with Basil. When she pushed him into the lake, Kel gets worried. In the one day left, Kel with Aubrey, Sunny and Hero go to have a sleepover with Basil. Kel is seen standing beside Basil in the hospital, worried from him, hoping he's okay after the fight he had with Sunny which resulted them going to the hospital.

In one of the endings where Basil dies, Kel is seen very upset. Kel is obviously heavily affected due to his death. Kel is known to be positive with Basil, he reassures him everything will be okay. Even though that the two haven't interacted in 4 years, Kel treats Basil like a normal close friend of his. Helping him with his bullies, inviting him to hang out. Obviously, the two are shown on good terms throughout the game.

Additionally, Basil has taken more photos of Kel than of anyone else in the friendgroup.

Fanon

This ship is somewhat popular in the Omori fandom, due to Kel always defending Basil when Aubrey bullied him. Some rivals of the ship like Sunflower or Suntan are more popular, but it is still a popular ship. The ship name Cactiflower comes from Basil saying Cacti remind him of Kel and for Basil’s love of flowers. Fan art often shows the two showing affection to each other. There are currently 43+ works of the pairing on AO3.

It is considered a "rare-pair" due to other, more popular ships overshadowing it. Most people ship it for the reason "Basil needs someone like Kel." As they don't appear in a lot of photos together fans of the pair consider it "healthy" since Kel was there to defend Basil when Aubrey was bullying him. They're usually shipped because of their dynamic too. Some may like it from the opposites attract trope as well. Sadly, this ship usually gets overshadowed, buried to the ground by the two's more popular ships with Sunny. Some may prefer this as a friendship.
