Camila is Luz's mother, who ended up adopting a basilisk named Vee when she had took Luz's form seconds before they met. Before Camila learned that "Luz" was really Vee and that the real Luz was suck in an another realm, Luz was coming closer to three of the four young witches she befriends in their home realm. When Luz had made the decision to stay in their world to learn how to be a witch like them, she had away back home to her mother. Until Luz was forced to hand the portal door over to Belos and had to look for ways to build a new portal, while worrying about how Camila would cope with her missing. Lucky Vee kept that from happening, while three of Luz's friends were helping the human in her mission to get back home. Some time after Luz met Hunter, who then meets Amity when searching for Titan's blood for Luz while Willow and Gus were watching over their sick human friend, Luz learns about Vee. Seeing how close Vee and her mother were, Luz was happy to let Vee keeping living as her while she no longer had to worry about upsetting Camila. Until Vee found herself in trouble and Luz was forced to tell Camila the truth. Even though Camila allows Vee to keep living with her, Luz was forced into making a promise that may keep her from ever seeing her demon realm friends ever again. Hunter soon becomes a true member of Luz's group of friends, after he tells Amity, Willow and Gus what he and Luz learned in Belos's mind. Which soon triggers the events that leads to them being trapped in the human realm, with no way back.
Luckily, Camila agreed to let Luz's trapped friends stay with them. Despite basilisks being creatures that feed off magic, Vee doesn't want to hurt anyone and that allowed Amity, Willow, Gus and Hunter to see her as a friend than a threat. Just as Hunter didn't want the others to know that he is secretly a Grimwalker, Luz doesn't want them to know that she had ended up helping past Belos meet the Collector and is worried that they'll hate her for it. Camila might had been informed of what the five had gone through before ending up at her door, but Luz couldn't bring herself to share the reasons for her trauma and guilt with her own mother. With the girls sharing Luz's room that Vee had been sleeping in, Camila helps Gus and Hunter make do in the basement, it wasn't much but the boys were still thankful for Camila's kindness. As was Vee, Amity and Willow. Despite Camila being a little weirded out with seeing Willow use her plant magic and the way Hunter bowed to her, she was determent to care for them as best she could. With help from Luz and Vee, Camila was able to look for ways that may allow her to provide the four young witches with the nourishment they would normally get in their home realm.
To help herself tell her mother that she is bisexual and that Amity is her girlfriend, Luz created a video for Camila. Who was more than happy to know that Luz was able to find someone and expects Luz's bisexuality, while Gus was seen running around the house with LGBTQ+ flags to celebrate the happy outcome. With the Hexsquad's clothes being damaged from their battle with Belos, Camila pays for new ones for the four to wear during their stay. During their clothes shopping, Vee created a whole new original form for herself, since Luz's return meant that she couldn't keep posing herself as her foster sister. Camila is shown to love Vee's new appearance and was also happy to see Amity, Willow, Gus and Hunter having fun trying on those clothes with Luz smiling next to her mother. Before school could restart for Luz, she, Vee and their friends were searching for ways to build a new portal, while Camila. On days when the six weren't trying to find away back to the Boiling Isles, they were having some human realm fun with Camila, who came like a mother to them. Just as Eda Clawthorne had become a second mother to Luz. Wanting to thank the Nocedas for caring for them and teaching the four things about their world, Amity, Willow, Gus and Hunter made them a dich that Vee warns the two humans that it will tasted worse then it already looks; but the thought was still sweet. With the camera Camila gave Willow, she used the photos she took with it to create a summer holiday scrap book to show their families.

Camilmom is a rare ship within The Owl House fandom. There are little to no fan works for this ship online. The AO3 tags on the ship are spread out, rather than having one single tag that has them in one group. These tags have been "Camila Noceda & Others," "Camila Noceda & Everyone" and "Camila Noceda & Hexsquad." That Vee is considered to be an honorary member of, during the time that the five spent with her. Even though these tags don't always include Vee with them as a whole, but the rest of the tags on the website's fanfics does have separate, individual tags of Camila being there for the six kids in her care.
