Candbert is the het ship between Candace Flynn and Albert Du Bois from the Phineas and Ferb fandom.
Canon[]
In "Doof Side of the Moon", Candace caught Albert's eye as she passed him by, talking to Jenny on the phone and Albert was immediately smitten with her, enamored by her beauty. Albert overheard that Candace was trying to bust her brothers and he offered to help, showing off his sweet nunchuck moves to try and impress her, only to oafishly hit himself on the head. Albert talked like a knight in shining armor and treated Candace like a damsel in distress in need of his assistance, quickly turning Candace off as she scoffed and walked away. However, when Albert claimed that he could help her with busting Phineas and Ferb, she zipped right back over to him, intrigued with his offer. Albert's idea on busting the boys was to plant security cameras around the backyard to spy on them, which Candace initially thought was more complicated than just showing Linda in person. However, Albert asked her how many times she'd tried to show the boys' inventions to Linda only for them to disappear, making Candace realize that she was in desperate need of Albert's nerd help. Albert promised to help Candace bust the boys, even giving her his "Nerd Word", which was a really big gesture in his community.
Phineas and Ferb built their tower to the moon in the backyard, with Candace and Albert leering nearby, plotting to bust them. After setting up the security cameras as per request, Albert took Candace into his van, where they'd watch the footage on their screens. Candace assumed Albert's dad was an exterminator but he denied this, making Candace feel a little bit uneasy about his reasoning for owning a white van with a statue of a dead cockroach on top. Albert turned on the TV screens to see nothing more than static, much to Candace's chagrin. The two rushed outside to see that Irving had stolen all of the cameras and stolen them and taken them into the tower to the moon. Albert got mad and chased Irving around the building. He initially invited Candace to come in and help him but she refused as she, "didn't do high places".
Albert returned empty-handed and told Candace not to fret, as this tower was virtually immovable. He ran some tests and did the math to come to the conclusion that the building was so dense, elaborate, and well-constructed that there's not a single force on Earth that could ever cause it to vanish from the backyard. Candace was elated, believing that now she had finally won, thanks to the assistance of Albert's "nerd help". Unfortunately for the both of them, the moon rotated on account of Doofenshmirtz' inator, causing the tower to get uprooted from the backyard and lifted out of the Earth's atmosphere before Linda could see anything. Albert failed to bust Phineas and Ferb for Candace, supposedly leading to her respect for his "nerd help" diminishing. They were never seen interacting again after this.
Fanon[]
Candbert is a very unpopular rarepair in the fandom, that is despised by many. This is due to many reasons, such as Albert being a poorly-received character in the fandom, due to him being a pretentious, obnoxious nerd. Critics have analyzed Albert's character, seeing him as an overbearing "nice guy", who simps over Candace and irritates her with his romantic gestures that she's clearly not into. They also consider the relationship to be very shallow, seeing as how Albert doesn't seem to like Candace for anything more than her appearance. Albert also acted kind of chauvinistic toward Candace, consistently touting himself as a "manly" gentleman, who can help a damsel in distress such as herself with her problems and would even repeatedly address her as "m'lady" in a manner that, while endearing in intention, was actually condescending in action. Most people, even those who are detractors of Candace, think that she deserves way better than to be with a clown like Albert, preferring rivaling ships like the obvious Canderemy as well as non-canon ones like Candacy and Candessa over it. Even Candford has a larger following.
Testaments that rule in favor of Candbert would point to the fact that Albert helped Candace to bust her brothers, by setting up cameras all over the backyard to record and capture their inventions. As someone with an annoying little brother himself, Albert could totally understand where Candace is coming from when she complains about Phineas and Ferb. Shippers believe that this could have been a nice dynamic between the two as a couple, where they could function as a busting duo, who work together as an ultimate power couple, taking care of their respective pesky little brothers.
There is a whopping 0 fanfictions about them on AO3. However, there is a small gathering of exactly 9 users on the Phineas and Ferb Wiki, who ship them, as seen here. Even though this ship is incredibly uncommon for Candace, this would be the most well-received ship for Albert, due to the fact that there are no other known ships for him.
