Inanimate Insanity III[]

At the start of the season, MePhone sets off paint bombs that determine which of the three teams each contestant is put on. Candle is put on the yellow team, where she points out to MePhone that she senses an imbalance. Referring to her team having one less member than the other two teams, she and the rest of the team discover that The Floor is their 6th member.

As MePhone sets off an alarm to gather the contestants for the second challenge, Candle approaches him and suggests playing a noise that is more soothing. MePhone pushes this aside in favor of starting the next challenge: naming their teams.

When MePhone announces that the third challenge will last for a full 24 hours, Candle narrates the chaotic start of the challenge in the Calm Down Cabana. She recounts every team racing to the shelf of cameras with the task of having to take humiliating photos of their opponents, adding that the speed of it all made her shutter. Later, Candle is able to take an embarrassing photo of Goo which her team presents for MePhone during the showcase of each teams' photos.

MePhone is angered from the contestants laughing at a note passed on between them as he was trying to promote a magazine themed about him. When the note blows away, Candle invites everyone to join together and remember the note's message, prompting shared laughter to MePhone's annoyance. He then declares that laughter is illegal, inspiring him to make the sixth challenge based around this. Later during the challenge when Nickel ends up making Candle burst in laughter, MePhone promptly calls her a criminal. She is placed in jail by MePhone where she encourages Yin-Yang, her last standing teammate in the challenge, to carry on for them. Eventually when Yin-Yang wins for the team, MePhone points out how the two teams that seemed to be the most distracted ended up winning. Candle suggests that it was the power of love that did this, causing MePhone to laugh and be sent to his own jail.

Candle and Cabby run a stand for aura readings for the contestants. When MePhone finds out about this, he tells the two that he did not approve of small businesses running on his land. When Cabby offers him an aura reading, Candle doubts that MePhone would understand it. However, MePhone looks up at the stand's sign, reading "AURA READINGS", and gets a vision. He takes the letters and rearranges them to spell out "DISARRANGE", announcing to the contestants that the season's current teams will be shuffled around. Later when MePhone shares that he is feeling hungry, the contestants guess what he is in the mood for where Candle suggests coconut caramel crisps.

When the contestants are preparing for a special televised episode of the show, Candle gathers everyone around and tells them about a group picture that MePhone asked them to take. Candle sets up the photo where all of the contestants, except Nickel, pose for the camera in front of them. While shooting a retake, MePhone accidentally drops part of the bridge tower that he is setting up for the challenge. This ends up killing Candle and nearly everyone else in the photo. Later when he recovers everyone all at once, each recovered contestant gets their bodies swapped with another, where Candle and Silver Spoon are switched around. As reviewer Ballpoint Pen is confused by this, Candle helps a nervous MePhone by treating it as a roleplay exercise, telling Ballpoint Pen that MePhone instructed them to act like each other to practice empathy. MePhone goes along with this and compliments Candle for the idea. For the bridge challenge, MePhone has each swapped pairing fight each other in the bridge for Ballpoint Pen to watch. At the start, Silver Spoon, in Candle's body, asks MePhone for a glass of water. MePhone is confused by this but accepts his request, where Silver Spoon extinguishes Candle's flame and ends up making himself faint. Candle, in the form of Silver Spoon, makes it to the center of the bridge where MePhone announces her victory.

After Candle's team loses their second challenge as The NEW Thinkers, MePhone reads out the votes where this is the first time she has received votes to be eliminated for the season. Upon her first vote, Candle takes a deep breath while in a meditative pose. Though, upon MePhone revealing that she has another vote, she starts to grow visibly nervous. She and Goo are tied with two votes each, though to her relief, Goo gets the last vote and is eliminated instead.

At Indefinite Island, MePhone brings along Candle and Paintbrush to announce to the eliminated contestants their chance for a rejoin. After the last portion of the rejoin challenge is done with, it is revealed that the word the contestants were trying to find is a misspelling of the word "TRANSFORMATION". Candle questions why MePhone spelt it wrong when he is a computer, which MePhone insists that he is a computer on vacation. Paintbrush eventually questions why they and Candle were brought with since they had no involvement with the rejoin up to that point. MePhone then says that he just needed someone to heat up the newly established immunity cookie, given Paintbrush's ability to enflame their bristles and Candle having a flame on her wax. Paintbrush is briefly angered by this but passes the opportunity, giving the cookie to Candle where she finds that the cookie turns into gold when heated up.

MePhone introduces the contestants to the Inani-Mates, appalled that they started eating up his mile pies while he was still trying to eat them. He assigns each creature to who they remind him of most, where Candle gets a purple Inani-Mate she names Flamina. During the showdowns, MePhone pairs Candle's Flamina with The Floor's Tootsy Wootsy. Flamina ends up bumping into Tootsy Wootsy and explodes by the collision, knocking Candle out of the bracket.

After The Floor is unable to leave the island after being eliminated, MePhone tries to come up with challenge ideas that he cannot be involved with. For the third challenge idea, MePhone has Candle on the side of a cliff for her to jump off and land on a trampoline beneath. After checking to see if The Floor is not around, he gives Candle the go. However, as she is about to jump, The Floor appears on the trampoline and causes Candle to lose her balance. MePhone becomes enraged that he ruined what he considered his anniversary special challenge. He then declares the challenge to get The Floor out of the island, which Candle finds to be impossible. MePhone dismisses her complains and insists that they find a way. Later when MePhone makes a deal to let The Floor stay as an assistant host, Candle is happy to see the two reach common ground. At the start of the elimination, MePhone makes the contestants agree that they will have to physically leave the island upon being eliminated. While everyone else agrees, Candle bluntly says no. During the vote reveal, Candle becomes irritated upon MePhone revealing the first vote against her. As she and Paintbrush go up in vote count, Candle progressively grows nervous about the results, although she is spared in the end when MePhone announces Paintbrush having a 4th vote against them.

In the anniversary challenge, MePhone has the contestants do a cliff jump similar to the first challenge of the season. Candle asks Silver Spoon that they stick to jumping off together like how it worked last time, adding that MePhone loves nostalgia. Later on during the elimination, MePhone announces the vote count where Candle and her allies are confident hearing both Cabby and Yin-Yang receive two votes each. However, MePhone then reveals that Candle has received two votes as well, tying her with the two with one vote left to be read. To her shock, MePhone announces that the final vote was for Candle, officially calling her the 13th contestant voted out of the season. After giving her farewells to Yin-Yang and Silver Spoon, MePhone launches Candle off with the Fist Thingy. He comments on her calm reaction and calls it pathetic.

Before the second rejoin of the season, Candle realizes that she forgot to mention to the past eliminated contestants that The Floor became MePhone's assistant rather than joining Indefinite Island with the rest of them. She insists that it was not an option when Tea Kettle asks. Later during the murder mystery rejoin challenge, Test Tube and Bot present their theory of Candle being the suspect to MePhone, who enjoys the incriminating idea. Though, when Candle and Silver Spoon are up to share their thoughts to MePhone, the two suspect The Floor as to distract the contestants with a larger controversy to avoid being fired by MePhone for being promoted to an assistant host. In the end, murder victim Blueberry reveals to MePhone that he was never murdered to begin with and simply played dead, making neither Candle nor anyone else the murderer.

In the season finale when the Unvitational Committee mutes MePhone to put a stop to the ceremony, Candle approaches them with anger. As Candle's Inner-Flame is unleashed and fights against the group, Silver Spoon and his Inner-Flame joins in. Candle is surprised by Silver Spoon's ability to use his power and asks him to grab MePhone and lead him away to safety. However, Silver Spoon is upset by Candle giving away her vote for him and ends up knocking her out, preventing her from saving MePhone.

Fanon[]

Candlephone is a rarepair in the Inanimate Insanity fandom. The pairing largely revolves around their interactions throughout Candle's time in the third season of the show, which remained on a fairly calm note throughout. Though not nearly as considered compared to other ships with MePhone and his contestants, the pairing has been included in spaces dedicated to rarepairs of the series such as on ship tier lists and posts. Ship art enjoys the idea of having Candle as a guide to MePhone alongside tying in ideas of other rarepairs within the two.
