Candoof is the friend ship between Candace Flynn and Heinz Doofenshmirtz from the Phineas and Ferb fandom.
Canon[]
Overview[]
Candace Flynn and Heinz Doofenshmirtz are mostly complete strangers who rarely ever have direct interactions with each other. Whenever they do interact, they generally think very little of each other, not knowing much about each other. However, their lives consistently overlap in ways that they don't know about. Candace's pet platypus, Perry is always sneaking off to fight Doofenshmirtz on his secret double-life as an agent. Doofenshmirtz is always building inators that make Phineas and Ferb's inventions disappear before Candace can bust them to her mom. Neither one of them is aware of the other's persistent impact on their lives.
Candace and Doofenshmirtz would later become a little more knowledgeable of each other when Candace became friends with Doofenshmirtz's daughter, Vanessa. Candace would recognize Doofenshmirtz as Vanessa's dad but really not see him as anything more than that.
Season 1[]
THE FAST AND THE PHINEAS
Candace looked at a photo of herself covered in sweeping ashes and screamed in terror. Doofenshmirtz heard her all the way from his blimp and reveled in the shrieking, believing that they were supposedly because of the evil he was bringing about due to his Deflate-inator.
SWINTER
Candace vented to Vanessa about how her brothers were driving her crazy. Vanessa told her that she should try spending a day with her dad. Little did Candace know, this "dad" Vanessa was talking about was Heinz Doofenshmirtz. She didn't listen to her anyway.
GET THAT BIGFOOT OUTTA MY FACE!
Candace saw Doofenshmirtz off in the distance, getting chased up and down the forest by a bunch of ghost puppets. This caused her to absolutely freak out, thinking that Bigfoot was real.
THE BALLAD OF BADBEARD
Candace got high on orange moss and and wound up with Perry, helping him fight Doofenshmirtz.
DOES THIS DUCKBILL MAKE ME LOOK FAT?
Candace switched bodies with Perry, meaning that Perry had to fight Doofenshmirtz in Candace's body. Doofenshmirtz was very put off by Perry being a teenage girl now.
OUT TO LAUNCH
Doofenshmirtz saw Candace in outer space with her over inflated gloves. He thought that she was Huge Hands Hans. He picked her up with his vehicular space robot to eat her and Candace freaked out, not knowing who was in this robot suit. Fortunately, she saved herself by attaching the negative jumper cable to the robot's nosehair, electrocuting the robot and charging her mom's car so that she could escape.
Season 2[]
CHEZ PLATYPUS
Candace was being held up by Buford at the entrance to Chez Platypus. Doofenshmirtz and his girlfriend came in and Doof bribed Buford into letting him in, which Candace was reasonably annoyed by.
THADDEUS AND THOR
Doofenshmirtz felt a slight disturbance in the cup-stacking universe, when Candace stacked up a bunch of cups much faster than he did.
PHINEAS AND FERB'S QUANTUM BOOGALOO
Candace Flynn, as a now 35-year-old woman, finally succeeded in busting Phineas and Ferb, using a time machine to go back to the events of "Rollercoaster" to help her past self bust them to Linda. However, this caused a butterfly effect that led to Doofenshmirtz defeating Perry and taking over the tri-state area. When Linda saw what the boys made, she called the FBI to save them. One of the FBI agents was flying the helicopter that Perry used his grappling hook on to escape the tin-foil ball that was hurdling toward him and Doofenshmirtz. This caused the helicopter to unexpectedly fly out of range, for Perry to miss, and get himself crushed by the tin-foil ball and incapacitated for 18 months, while Doofenshmirtz escaped. Doofenshmirtz was able to use the public outcry against Phineas and Ferb's antics as leverage to support his campaign to become the new mayor. Due to Doofenshmirtz' rise to power, he outlawed creativity and freedom and even banned children, meaning that future Candace never had Amanda, Xavier, and Fred. Candace was horrified by this future and had never even heard of Doofenshmirtz until this point but once she did, she realized what a horrible and villainous dictator he was and understood that she's the one who brought him into office. Candace went to the junkyard and found the old time machine that was about to be destroyed and traveled back in time again to undo this travesty and bring the good future back. While she went on her trip to the junkyard, Joe, Doofenshmirtz's designated tattle-tale told on her for passing by one of his statues without basking in his glory. Doofenshmirtz told Joe that he was being such a tattle-tale, not understanding that this was specifically the job he told him to do.
FIRESIDE GIRL JAMBOREE
Candace delivered some cupcakes to Doofenshmirtz to earn her 50th patch. Doofenshmirtz questioned that she seemed a little old to be a Fireside Girl, which Candace confirmed she was. Candace would forget to place her torch thingy to mark her territory here so that she could earn her 50th patch.
Season 3[]
BAD HAIR DAY
Doofenshmirtz got covered in honey and all of Candace's extra hair that got blown off of her body. Doofenshmirtz then fell off his hovercraft and landed safely in Candace's arms. Candace presented Doofenshmirtz to Mrs. Johnson, who mistook him for an endangered orangutan and tranquilized him to take "her" back to the wild. Doofenshmirtz, now completely loopy thanks to the tranq, referred to Candace as his mommy.
EXCALIFERB!
In the Medieval version of the show, Candavere was turned into a colossal behemoth that combined several monstrous qualities thanks to Phinastis and Ferbalot's many potions. She snuck up behind Malefishmirtz and intended to scare him silly, only for Malefishmirtz to instead just look at her funny and think that with all of these weird monster things mixed together, she comes off as looking more ridiculous than she does, scary. Nevertheless, he still fought her in battle.
THE DOONKELBERRY IMPERATIVE
Candace and Vanessa went to Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated to look for a book on the scientific method, while Doofenshmirtz was away in Drusselstein, getting his drivers license renewed. Candace was wowed by how science-y it looked in here and Vanessa told her that her dad was an amateur inventor. Candace thought little of this comment and continued on her search for her book. She was completely oblivious to how all of these machines were responsible for causing the countless disappearing objects in her life.
Season 4[]
LAST DAY OF SUMMER
Candace went to Doofenshmirtz's house to return a DVD to Vanessa but Vanessa wasn't home at the time, meaning she was left with only Doofenshmirtz to interact with. Candace and Doofenshmirtz had a conversation about the long summer they've had and how much failures they've had to go through, both wishing they could start this day all over again. Doofenshmirtz introduced to Candace his Do-Over-Inator, which would allow exactly that to happen. However, he hadn't worked out all the bugs in it yet. Just then, they accidentally activate it and both ended up caught in a Groundhog's Day loop, allowing them several other chances at starting the day over again. Candace got more attempts at busting Phineas and Ferb, while Doofenshmirtz got more chances to take over the Tri-State Area.
Season 5[]
DECONSTRUCTING DOOF
Doofenshmirtz and Candace were both patients for the same psychologist, this being Dr. Mosely Shamai. They both vented about their constant failures to achieve their goals, with Candace complaining about how a mysterious force always takes away her brothers' inventions and Doofenshmirtz' inators always getting destroyed. Dr. Shamai was interested when both of them mentioned Perry the Platypus in their stories and from that, he started drawing connections between the two. He started documenting exact times and dates for the events of their stories and noticing the correlation between both of them. (i.e. Phineas and Ferb's cartoon studio getting up and dancing away on the exact same say that Doofenshmirtz' Dance-Away-Inator fired off the balcony to an unknown location) Dr. Shamai eventually uncovered that these two complete strangers were actually linked together by Perry the Platypus and discovered his identity as Agent P, noticing that it was him and him alone, who was causing both of their constant failures. He made this huge speech to a crowd of people to prove this to the world but Perry destroyed the evidence to keep his affiliation with O.W.C.A. a secret. Candace listened to his speech and heard the stuff he was saying about Doofenshmirtz, even though she didn't entirely know the other person's name. She also heard him mention things about Perry being a secret agent but I guess this technically didn't blow his cover because despite him claiming he was a secret agent, he had failed to prove it to Candace. In the end, Candace brushed off everything Dr. Shamai said as pure lunacy on account of his lack of evidence.

CANDACE AGAINST THE UNIVERSE
Doofenshmirtz helped the Backyard Gang go to Feebla-Oot in the Vroblock Dimension to save Candace, particularly because Vanessa was lost in that same place. When they arrived at Candace's little talk show with Super Super Big Doctor, Candace pointed out that she didn't recognize Doof at all. Doofenshmirtz explained his deal and talked about his daughter, Vanessa. Candace knew who he was talking about and assured him that she sent her on an escape pod back home, much to Doof's relief.
Fanon[]
The unspoken connection between Candace and Doofenshmirtz is an interesting connection in the fandom, with lots of people enjoying the formula of Doofenshmirtz's inators messing up Candace's chances of busting her brothers. It would be very interesting if Candace and Doofenshmirtz properly met and found out the truth, which would finally put an end to the invention disappearances for good. Several fanfictions have explored these scenarios and found many common grounds that Candace and Doofenshmirtz could share, leading to an unlikely friendship between the two of them.
Certain musical numbers of theirs have become their unofficial ship song. This includes "When Tomorrow is This Morning Again" and "No One Understands Me", which are catchy duets of theirs, even when they didn't know about each other at the time.
