CapiRon is the slash ship between Ororon and Capitano from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
Ororon and Capitano first met in Act II of the Archons' Quest. Then, Capitano asked Ororon, who was still unknown to him, if he knew Citlali. Ororon began to follow Capitano and followed him for several days. Capitano knew Ororon was watching him, but he didn't mind.
- “Ignore him. He is no threat.”
- — Capitano tells Tarko about Ororon.
After some time, Ororon realizes that the Fatui are not going to harm Natlan and are not going to bring evil to the inhabitants of Natlan. Following Capitano to the Stadium, Ororon watches him fight Mavuika. Noticing that Capitano was seriously injured, Ororon used an illusory trick to distract the attention of the Pyro Archon, and helped Capitano escape. In doing so, Ororon saved Capitano's life. Later, explaining to Capitano why he saved him, Ororon states that he did not do it because he wanted some kind of benefit. Ororon wasn't sure if Mavuika would be able to save Natlan. The young man claims that he himself had asked the same questions that Capitano had asked Pyro Archon, and felt that he had to help Capitano. Ororon noted that he and the Capitano are "in the same boat." Capitano attacked Pyro Archon in broad daylight, and Auroron used his tribe's magic to save Capitano. Thus, they both violated the rules of Natlan and ended up on the wanted list. Capitano also apologized to Ororon for jumping to conclusions about him. In the end, Capitano said that Ororon could be useful to him for his plan, and allowed him to join.
After some time, Ororon, with the help of his powers, helps the Captain and contacts the Traveler while he is sleeping. They move to the Kingdom of Night, where Ororon arranges a meeting between the Traveler and the Capitano. Also, during this meeting, Ororon introduces Capitano as his friend. Ororon starts working with Capitano and helps him. While working with Fatui, Ororon spent a lot of time with Capitano and his soldiers. In his Character Story 5, there is a story where Ororon was sitting around a campfire with Fatui. It is mentioned that Ororon then drank one glass of Fire-Water, but the Captain stopped him and did not let him drink the second glass. During the war in Natlan, Ororon joins the battle with Capitano and his soldiers, although it would seem that this is no longer necessary, because they no longer work together. In the cut scenes, Ororon can be seen standing next to Capitano and before going on the attack, first looks at his actions and then follows him. After the end of the war, you can see how Capitano and Orron talk to each other. Capitano also asks Ororon if he needs Fatui's help. In update 5.3, we see the interactions of Capitano and Ororon again. Mavuika suggests that Ororon talk to Capitano about the events taking place. The guy is a little surprised, to which Mavuika replies that the Captain respects him.
In the last scene, when Capitano puts forward his candidacy for self-sacrifice, he is accompanied by Ororon. Capitano also thanks Ororon for seeing him off. After his sacrifice, there is an opportunity to talk with the characters standing next to the memorial. While everyone else is talking about various things related to Natlan and the end of the battle, Ororon continues to think about Capitano and honor his memory.
Quotes[]
- “Meeting The Captain was a strange and unexpected twist of fate for me. My tribe is known for our ability to predict the future, but I never expected things would turn out so complicated. Is helping someone really about trading favors until the score is even? If so, why do I still feel so indebted to him? So grateful for what he did for me? Or... maybe I'm overthinking everything. No matter what happened in the past, he helped save Natlan's Ley Lines. He's a hero worthy of respect, and I'll always remember him.”
- — Ororon talks about Capitano, Ororon's voice lines (friendship level 4)
- “Military rations... especially compressed biscuits. They kinda remind me of The Captain's soul, actually... Good at the core, but a little tough.”
- — Ororon about his least favorite food, voice lines
- “Don't tell me you haven't noticed his respect for you? The First of the Fatui Harbingers doesn't work with just anyone.”
- — Mavuika's words about the Captain's attitude towards Ororon.
- “You may not live among your tribe, but you certainly know their tricks. I apologize for my rash judgment… You are more capable than I imagined.”
- — Capitano draws conclusions about Ororon.
- “He's strong — I can tell. But there's something... unusual about him, and also familiar in some way. I can't describe it.”
- — Ororon's first impression of Capitano.
Fanon[]
The shipping between them occurred during the events of "The Rainbow Destined to Burn". At first, fans were intrigued by the fact that Ororon's first appearance was paired with Capitano during the trailer. Prior to Natlan's official storyline, Ororon's identity was not revealed – however, he was seen standing next to Capitano, as well as talking to him after the battle in the stadium.
The fans love their collaboration and the warm reviews they give each other. Capitano has shown more than once that he respects Ororon, and Ororon, in turn, saved his life, risking himself and his reputation. There are already 243 works on them at AO3.
