Both Cass and Damian were born and raised in the world of assassins, before finding themselves becoming members of the Batfamily. Cass being Bruce's first adopted daughter and Damian being his biological son, it has made the two siblings. Their mothers have ties to the League of Assassins, and had set to have their children become living weapons. While under the Dark Knight's care, they are trained to be heroes and has given them the chance to be normal people through their civilian lives. Something that they were denied from their early years.

Chapters 90 & 91 focus on Orphan and Robin, as they search for the Mad Hatter. After Damian subjects that they split up in order to search the buildings for him, Cass's gut has her tell him to be careful but Damian wasn't worried about Hatter. Saying that they'll have in cuff in no time. When Orphans finds Hatter she thought that she could avoid falling under his hypnotic if she acts quick, but by the time Robin finds them Cass had already fallen under Hatter's control. Turning her into a weapon to fight Robin. Damian tries to get Cass to snap out of it, by saying that Hatter is using her, but ends up being pinned down by her. As Hatter gets his new "weapon" to wrap her hands around Robin's neck. Robin tries to snap Orphan of it again, by reminding her that she isn't a weapon and that she is much more than that. She is family, his family. After Damian's words get Cass to reflect on the life she had as a living weapon, before meeting the Batfamily. Realising that even though Damian is facing off against her in a battle, he doesn't see her as the weapon that Tetch had made her, but the person Cass is. Giving her the strength to fight against the voice in her head and to go against the orders to kill for Hatter. Once Cass was herself she ruffles Damian's hair before helping back up. Damian was happy to have Cass back and then watches her punch Hatter for what he did. As the two watch Hatter being taken away by the police from the roof tops, Cass apologies for what happened, but Damian says that she nothing to apologies for and that he could have beaten her. Well he could have, and then tells Cass that he is proud of her.

Cass and Damian have been viewed as the two assassin sibling members of the BatKids. With them having a similar upbringing and connection to the League of Assassins through their mothers, before they became heroes and siblings to one another. That is why some fanworks have the two getting along, even though Damian is known for not getting along with most of the Batfamily members.
On AO3, there are currently 440+ written works.
