Season 2[]
ALWAYS BE BROWNIES
Splinter and April get captured by Cassandra and are placed in separate rooms. Cassandra ends up having a breakdown over not being in the foot clan and Splinter starts to console her. Saying that she reminds him a lot of another girl who often fails, but never gives up. April the falls through the vent on top of the two, and she and Cassandra instantly get into fighting stances. Cassandra is impressed that April took out her entire clan, and April tells Cassandra to let Splinter go. Cassandra tells her to make her, as Splinter tries to diffuse the situation. Cassandra says that talk is cheap, and April says that she couldn't agree more. Splinter points out how much the two have in common, but April and Cassandra simultaneously say that they have nothing in common and are enemies. April demands her money and Splinter back, but Cassandra counters that she can have Splinter if she lets her keep the money. April is considering it, before Splinter forces her to give in. Cassandra then drops a smoke bomb, disappearing as April laments that she got away with the money.

Cassapril is smaller in the overall TMNT fandom, but there is a small following in the Rise fandom. A lot of the shipping didn't necessarily come from the two interacting in the series itself. It was mostly due to Cassandra being an adaptation of the original Casey Jones, April's main love interest in previous incarnations. As a result, many were hoping that the two might become a couple in this series. Many LGBT+ TMNT fans specifically wanted it to happen as it would be a prominent same sex couple in an animated series. With Rise also previously having LGBT+ representation, many had hope that it would happen. Although with the series on a very long hiatus, some of that hope has started to dwindle.
On AO3 Cassapril is the second most written ship for Cassandra. There are currently 110+ written works.
