Celica is the princess of Zofia. As a child, she grew up with Alm and his friends, but was forced to leave after an evil chancellor's goons came after her. Years later, a famine strikes her new home in Novis, she and a small group set off on a quest to find the cause.

As Celica originated from the Japan-only game Fire Emblem Gaiden, she was widely unknown outside of Japan. However, when the game's remake Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia was released, Celica's popularity quickly skyrocketed. This growth is reflected in the first two Fire Emblem Heroes Choose Your Legends popularity polls where she went from 118th place with 2,374 votes to 2nd place (only behind Blazing Blade's Hector) with 36,302 votes. In other appearances such as Fire Emblem Warriors and Fire Emblem Engage, she is regularly chosen as the Gaiden/Shadows of Valentia representative.
