Celifaye is the femslash ship between Celica and Faye from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Celica is the main character (alongside Alm) of Fire Emblem Gaiden and its remake Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Faye is a playable character newly introduced in Shadows of Valentia.
Celica and Faye meet during their childhood. Celica is actually the princess Antiese of Zofia , she was forced to flee after an assasination attempt and hid at the Ram village where she lived with the knight Mycen and Alm. Celica became friends with the other child of the village Faye, Kliff, Tobin and Grey and was alredy close with Alm. Faye and Celica were the only girls of the group. The other children noticed that Alm and Celica were really close but Faye at first believed that Alm and Celica were cousins and wasn't worried that Alm could remplace his friends by Celica, after learning that Alm and Celica weren't actually related she asks if they will marry. The conversation is interrupted by Slayde a corrupted knight who was seeking Celica to kill her, he attacks Faye who is saved by Alm. Thankfully Mycen arrive at the time to defeat Slayde who flee. Now that her ennemies know where she is hidden Celica is forced to left the village to hide on the Novi Island and don't have the time to says goodbye to her friends.
Several years later, Alm decides to leave the village to join the Resistance alongside Tobin and Gray. Faye proposes to go with them and Alm can accept. During the adventure Faye will show that she has became obsessed with Alm. On the same time Celica go on a quest to Mila's temple to find what happened to the goddess Mila. Celica briefly reunite with Alm at Zofia's castle where they have a fight and Celica return on her quest without interacting with the rest of Alm's group. Faye after hearing about the fight says to Alm that maybe Celica can't understand him because they changed with time. At one point Faye understand that Alm will never love her back and accept the situation. Faye finally reunite with Celica for the final battle against Duma.
If Alm refused to let Faye joins his group she will stay at the Ram village. Celica can returns at the village and recruits Faye. Faye immediatly reconnizes Celica and is glad to see her after all those years. She expresses that she feel lonely that since the others left the village and when she learns that Celica is on a quest she ask her to let her join her group.
After the war, Celica marries Alm and became Queen of the united Valentia. Faye returns to Ram Village where she marries a man who agrees to be with her despite her continued pining for the king.
Fanon[]
Celifaye is the second most popular femaslash for both Celica and Faye (behind Celimae and Fayesilque respectively). This ship is seen by its shippers as a solution to the Celica-Alm-Faye love triangle present in the game where none of the girl loose. Sometime the Celifaye is a step that led to the polyship Faye/Celica/Alm. Celifaye is also liked by people disappointed by Faye's development in the game and the ship is used as an opportunity to explore Faye's character outside of her love for Alm.
Most fanfictions take place in timelines where Faye joined Celica on her quest. Some other take place after an alternate ending where Alm is unavailable for Celica and Faye (because he married someone else or because he died), Celica and Faye generally start to grow closer by conforting each other over Alm's lose.
Celifaye is also liked as a frienship ship. An important part of the fandom think that Faye hate Celica because she is loved by Alm, as a response the Faye's fans made fanworks depicting Faye as a friend for Celica like in the conversation where Celica recruits Faye.
