Cha'an is the femslash ship between Christine Chapel and La'an Noonien-Singh from the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fandom.

Season 1[]
STRANGE NEW WORLDS
M'Benga introduces Chapel to La'an, Pike and Spock as she's on transfer from the Morehouse Epigenetic Project and Pike says she's perfect for the job. La'an asks what job, and Chapel says that she's going to mess with their genomes. Chapel explains that they're going to change some of their DNA, and La'an asks how she's going to do that. M'Benga explains what she does and La'an boils it down to her making disguises. Chapel says that La'an bosses a rocket ship if they're simplifying things, and explains how she will be changing them. La'an asks if it's safe and Chapel says that it is. Almost every time.
Chapel goes to give La'an a sedative for the procedure, but La'an refuses it. Chapel asks if she wasn't clear about the terrible pain part, and La'an asks if she wasn't clear when she said no. Pike has a word with La'an but she doesn't change her mind. Chapel then injects the gene therapy, and tells La'an to hang in there.
ALL THOSE WHO WANDER
Chapel keeps her phaser up when La'an walks in through the med bay doors. Chapel is thankful it's her and tells her that the gorn came out of her patient. La'an says that there's three gorn left, and Chapel asks what they do. La'an tells her to scan for bio signatures and grabs the datapad from her hand. She doesn't see anything from the Gorn and Chapel asks if that means they're gone. La'an doubts it, and Chapel says they could be anywhere. La'an gives Chapel a gun and tells her to shoot anything that moves on the cieling. La'an grabs another one for herself and has Chapel follow her as they head off to find the girl.

Lapel is a fairly popular ship in the Strange New Worlds fandom. This is due to their first interaction in the pilot. Many instantly grabbing onto the ship once they interacted. Mostly due to Jess Bush's Chapel coming off as flirty with everyone, including La'an. Although it didn't gain many new fans as the season went on, as the two didn't interact much after their initial meeting. Fans still enjoyed their interaction, though, and would explore a possible continuing relationship in fan works.
On AO3, Lapel is the most second written ship for La'an and the fourth most written for Chapel. It is also the fifth most written ship in the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds tag. There are currently 210+ written works. Over half of the fan fics are short one shots written by user Hollie47.
