Chanzula is the het ship between Chan and Azula from the Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom.

Canon

Chan and Azula meet while the latter is taking a vacation on Ember Island with her brother and best friends. Azula decides that it would be interesting to hide her identity as a princess so that she can see how she will be treated. They initially meet on the beach, when Chan is impressed by the volleyball skills of Mai and Ty Lee. He invites her friends to his party, and Zuko convinces Chan to invite him and Azula as well. Chan warns them that the best teenagers in the Fire Nation will be there, but allows them to join. He tells them that the party will be at sundown.

Azula and her group show up right at sundown. Chan is not ready yet, but still invites them to come in. Eventually, Azula becomes jealous of seeing so many men flirt with Ty Lee. She decides to try flirting with Chan, although her compliment comes off a bit too strong. Chan seems somewhat uncomfortable, and they part ways. Azula then seeks flirting advice from Ty Lee so that she can try again.

She asks Chan to give her a tour of the house, and the two go out onto the balcony. She compliments his arms, and the two share a kiss. However, Azula gets so excited that she showed off her firebending abilities and declares that they will be the ultimate couple and rule the world. Chan is frightened by this and runs off. Azula and the others leave the party because Zuko was kicked out, but they later come back to wreck Chan's house as an act of revenge.

Chanzula has a decent amount of popularity in the Avatar fandom. Despite the fact that Chan only appeared in one episode and had a very minor role in the series, many fans like to pair them together because Azula did not have any other love interests in the series. Some like the idea of this pairing because they see it as a "summer time romance" and many others are intrigued by the fact that Chan briefly fell for Azula without even knowing that she was a princess. Chanzula most commonly rivals the Tyzula pairing. On AO3, Chanzula is the most written ship for Chan. There are currently 25+ written works.
