CharJin is the het ship between Charlie Morningstar and Jin Kazama from the Hazbin Hotel and Tekken fandoms.

Canon

Charlie Morningstar and Jin Kazama are the main protagonists of their respective series, though Jin didn't serve as this before Tekken 3. They have never met each other.

Both Charlie and Jin have demonic powers, specifically with their demonic transformation (Jin's one is best known as Devil Jin as said in the name since Tekken 5). Both are also capable of flight as they can also summon wings as well as they are also experienced on fighting. However, their demonic powers are almost exact as Charlie is able to use the pyrokinesis while Jin, unlike her, can actually use telekinesis and fire laser from his forehead.

Despite of them being demons, they are not evil enough. This is because Charlie is the one who cares about redemption as well as Jin himself despises his own devil and has been trying to end the Mishima Bloodline to save the world from their evil.

Fanon

Development

Fanarts of Charlie and Jin's relationship started since late 2020/early 2021. FBIRancher7590 has started this during the times he makes the Tekken and Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss crossover named Tekken X Hazbin Hotel ever since March 2020. His decision on making this crossover is due to the w:c:tekken:Devil Gene being a main focus within the Tekken storyline while both respective Hellaverse series mainly depicting the story about the demons. Tekken X Hazbin Hotel additionally depicts the story about numerous great situations progressively happening that lead to the war between Earth and Hell realms.

Before the creator grow up on making this couple, he made one of the relationship between Jin and Charlie in their demonic form when he made the special intros of Tekken X Hazbin Hotel. However since Christmas 2020, he later began making the CharJin couple fanarts and eventually did so. These couple fanarts consist of various things; beginning from Jin checking in the Hazbin Hotel and meeting Charlie, then controlling their demon, meeting Charlie's family, thinking about his mother named Jun Kazama, hanging out together in various ways including some of their hobbies, and anything else, showcasing their potential chemistry and compatibility.

Additionally, as the creator is also fond of cars since late 2009, he also made the CharJin fanarts with anything automotive-related, such as both playing Need for Speed: Carbon, showing Jin's Chevrolet Corvette C8 aside of having his bike named ENIGMA Type 5843 and Charlie's Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, and participating Audition Race (a known race event in 2 Fast 2 Furious).

Story

The Mishima Family members attend as the clients of the Hazbin Hotel, especially with the curse they have, which they actually regret. Jin is the first known one who checks in there, mainly because of the Devil Gene and its blood that runs through his veins. Charlie, on the other hand, is a resident of Hell who aims to rehabilitate sinners and demons. At Jin's time in the Hazbin Hotel, he explains something about his family and their curse. It is shown the two became in love together when Jin checks in there.

At this point, Charlie tries to cure Jin Kazama and Kazumi Mishima, the host of the Devil Gene she regrets, for their devil possession by biting their arms and drinking their devil blood quite deeply. However, this "cure" ended up in failure as their Devil Gene is not restrained. Instead, Charlie also possesses the Devil Gene; in this case where she firstly has suffered her eye disease, then progressively uncontrollable sights for several hours with her eyes getting hotter, making the heat in her eyes unbearable, until she suddenly has fired the lasers from her eyes almost uncontrollably, getting her realized that she ultimately has the Devil Gene. She has demonstrated further powers like telekinesis. Upon this, Charlie understands how she can control this power. Charlie's desire for redemption may help the Mishima family members, especially Jin and except Kazuya and Heihachi Mishima, learn to embrace their powers rather than fear them, though some doesn't want to embrace it. Their strength and determination could inspire Charlie to continue her mission.

• CharJin is a play on the term "Chargin'"/"Charging".
• Due to FBIRancher7590's lack of experience on drawing, most of CharJin arts he made are with 3D and memes, and some of them are also with video game screenshots.
  • While he doesn't make CharJin through the use of video game screenshots much, Alonzo Wolf Wendigo is more responsible on doing this and additionally several of his recordings of WWE 2K22, and 2K23, and sometimes 2K24.
