Canon[]
Season One[]
Charlie meets Sera when she goes to visit Heaven with Vaggie, after her father convinced the Heavenly council to hear Charlie out on letting redeemed souls into Heaven, in hopes of putting an end to the yearly extermination peacefully. Sera acts kind and plight towards Charlie as she introduces herself as the head Seraphim, asks St. Peter to let their guests from Hell in, and when Emily tells Charlie that being in Heaven would have her not wanting to go back down, Sera reminds Charlie that her visit is temporarily and is sorry that she can't stay. After Sera steps away from Charlie and Vaggie to speak with Adam and Lute on their situation, it gets revealed that Sera wasn't happy with Charlie's presence in Heaven at all and sees her as misguided, as well as her bringing trouble to their doorstep. When Sera agreed to Adam's plan of killing Hell's populous, in order to keep Heaven safe and is determined to keep the extermination a secret from everyone else, she didn't think that it would lead to a Morningstar wanting to speak with them about it, on Heaven's groups. Despite Sera having regrets of the decision she made, she orders Adam and Lute to keep their shared problem from getting worse.
In court Sera allows Charlie to plead her case on whether or not a soul in Hell can improve through the use of the Hazbin Hotel, though she has no intention of letting sinners into Heaven and mostly sides with Adam during the trial. As Sera expects his aggregation to Charlie using dictionary references, preventing Charlie from using any of the notices she written for the trial, and when Charlie asks Heaven's first man on what he thinks gets someone into Heaven, Sera backs him up on the check list he made. Although Sera allowed the court to observe the patron Charlie has faith in, even though Angel Dust being in a sex club at the time didn't help Charlie's case, she pleads with Sera and the other elder angels to keep watching. The head Seraphim wasn't sure that they should, but Emily convinces Sera to give Charlie and Angel a chance, and allows the court to keep observing. Charlie being happy about this gets her to say "f**k yes," while Sera gives Hell's princess a tern look for using such language, once Charlie saw this she apologies and then thanks the court for giving Angel a chance to prove he has redeeming qualities. After Angel completed Adam's check list, as Charlie points this out to the court, Sera didn't think that Charlie would be proven right and becomes worried, once the other angels in the room began to question on what truly gets someone into Heaven. Charlie saw this and questions them on it, angering Sera as it felt like Charlie was questioning their ways and reminds the court of their job to protect the souls in Heaven, in order to defend their foundation and the will of devine judgment.
Charlie's words and beliefs on giving sinners a second chance, however, had already reach Emily and tries to convince Sera to see that Charlie is right. Hearing Sera deny this, while saying that it isn't as simple as it seems angers Charlie, as she tells Sera that it wasn't fair and then asks her if she cares for the souls suffering in Hell. Because someone is dead it doesn't mean that they are unable to change their ways. Sera does feel for Charlie and what she is saying, but the head Seraphim continues to defend herself by saying she is sure Charlie wishes it could be so, but there's a lot that she doesn't know. Not long after Adam and Lute chime in, Charlie learns that Sera has kept Heaven in the dark of the very thing Charlie wants to put a stop to. Sera then becomes horrified as Emily joins Charlie in speaking out on Heaven's hypocrisy, and then expose the cruel nature of the exterminations to the rest of the court. Once things calmed down and Sera was able to collect herself from the chaos, she tells Charlie that she is sorry as she delivers the final verdict. That the court hasn't found any proof that a damned soul can be redeemed, despite what they saw when observing Angel, and will the exterminations to continue. After Adam tells Charlie and Vaggie that they'll be attacking the hotel at the start of the next extermination, before sending them back to Hell by force, Sera berates Adam for his behaviour towards them. Turns out Sera believed that the souls in Hell were uprising and because Heaven has its own souls to protect, Sera couldn't bring herself to worry about the demons Charlie is fighting hard to save from Heaven's wrath.
When Sera had told Charlie her verdict from the trial, she truly believed that Charlie's goal of redeeming sinners was impossible. Until one of Charlie's friends, Sir Pentious, ascends into Heaven right before Sera and Emily, as a redeemed soul. Leaving Sera completely shocked, while Charlie is left in the dark as she continues to make her dream a reality back in Hell.

Senses from the official season two trailer reveal that Charlie and Sera will cross paths again at some point, as the senses show Charlie and Sera stepping out of a portal that brings them and a few of Sera's fellow angels to Hell.
Fanon[]
CharSera is a rare friendship of the Hazbin Hotel fandom, with the first season only having them interact in "Welcome to Heaven." Though senses from the official season two trailer subjects that the two are set to meet again, and there are fans who wanted Charlie and Sera to meet again. Sera acting as a mother figure towards Emily is why some people like to imagine Sera treating Charlie the same way. Believing that the two of them can become true friends and allies, once Sera becomes a believer in Charlie's dream, like Emily has. Although CharSera is marked as a friendship, there are those who prefer to treat it as a femslash.
Supports of LuciSera like to have Sera taking Lilith's place as Charlie's mother, or suspect that Sera resents Charlie for being the child Lucifer had with another woman. The idea is based on one of the theories as to why Sera appears not to be truly fund of Charlie, but still acts plight to her.
