A younger Charlie and Lucifer in a flashback from More Than Anything
Charlie was born to Lucifer and Lilith, the rulers of Hell. According to Charlie, she felt small around her father and was never close to him, however, she was enthralled and enchanted by his lofty tales and dreams. At some point, Lilith brought Charlie with her as the family separated, and from then on their relationship was highly estranged.
Lucifer began to cope with his depression by crafting rubber ducks and in fact dodging his responsibilities, shown to be highly awkward in expressing his care for Charlie, though overjoyed when meeting her at the hotel. Charlie described her father as never really wanting to see her, and that he only calls when he’s bored or needs her to do something. Lucifer did not believe in Charlie’s dreams despite loving her dearly, and in the Pilot Charlie wonders to herself if he was right as the hotel’s goals seem dreary. As Charlie grew up Lucifer wasn’t there for her. Many of the cast, including Husk and Alastor, points out and makes fun of Charlie’s “daddy issues.” Lucifer is very protective of Charlie however, as well as getting severely jealous of her relationship with Alastor.
Dad Beat Dad[]
Charlie calls Lucifer in a last attempt to save the hotel. Lucifer, in the middle of crafting a brand-new duck, glances sadly at the family portrait in his house. He begins to panic and fumble with his phone as he realizes Charlie is calling him. Lucifer mutters to himself and insist his greeting must be perfect, emphasizing how Charlie hasn’t called him in years. He rehearses to himself how he can greet Charlie, using names such as “Char-char” and nervously picking up the call.
However, succumbed by nervousness, Lucifer greets her with, “Heyyy bitch!” which hardly fazes Charlie. Lucifer awkwardly starts the call and asks where she’s been recently, to which she reminds him that she already told him. Lucifer nervously fiddles with his duck throughout the conversation, where Charlie explains the prospect of her hotel and seems disappointed. Nevertheless, Charlie asks Lucifer if she could get an audience with the higher-ups in Heaven, to which he vehemently refuses her offer. Charlie, frustrated, explains how important the situation is to her. Lucifer stammers and is highly hesitant, however, she asks him to come to the hotel and observe her goal; to this, Lucifer agrees upon realizing that Charlie is, technically, inviting him over. He begins energetically skipping around, singing and pointing at one of his rubber ducks proclaiming, “Take that, depression!”

Lucifer wraps Charlie into a hug
Afterwards, the crew prepares the crew to make the hotel as presentable as possible. As Lucifer arrives, he immediately grips Charlie into a tight hug, squeezing her and smiling widely. Charlie introduces the hotel to her father, to which he happily greets Razzle and Dazzle, not without threatening them to take good care of Charlie. Lucifer shows some hesitance in expressing his true thoughts as he awkwardly critiques the hotel’s decor, only to notice Alastor; in which, he immediately tenses and grows a slight animosity with.
Sarcastically, he asks Charlie who Alastor is, and throughout this exchange the two begin to avidly insult each other. Charlie nervously watches the situation and has to defuse it by pushing the two away, awkward as she brings Lucifer away and around the hotel. He smiles at her happiness, only to frown right after Charlie mentions Alastor, which kickstarts another rivalry. Alastor recognizes Lucifer’s envy and attempts to rouse him further, therefore placing a hand on Charlie’s shoulder and raving about her dreams and how he’s glad to support her, making Lucifer irate and growl at the sight, glaring fiercely at Alastor’s bond. He quickly asks Charlie to introduce him to her other friends, to which she introduces her girlfriend Vaggie. Surprised, Lucifer exclaims how they have so much in common, that being liking girls.

Charlie smiles awkwardly during the song
However, as the hotel falls into ruins after a chandelier falls, Lucifer sighs and starts the musical number, “Hell’s Greatest Dad.” From start to finish, Lucifer emphasizes how he is Charlie’s father, and subsequently how she needs his help the most. Lucifer repeats multiple times how their family while silently competing with Alastor. Throughout, Charlie scrunches her face in an awkward smile as Lucifer pulls her through multiple scenes showing his power and dexterity.

Lucifer glares at Alastor, jealous
Eventually, Lucifer is pushed away by Alastor who strives to earn Charlie’s loyalty instead. Alastor calling Charlie the child he wish he had both shocks and enrages Lucifer. Alastor, intentionally, tells Charlie she could call him dad, which sets Lucifer into a spiral of anger as he aggressively plays the golden fiddle and competes even more against Alastor. Charlie’s eyes sparkle in awe as she watches Lucifer spread his wings, but she smiles awkwardly after he emphasizes how they have the same blood, in a very deranged manner.
Not too long after, Lucifer grabs Charlie and pulls her away from Alastor, in which the Radio Demon does the same, much to Lucifer’s irritation. Charlie brings Lucifer through the hotel. Charlie is nervous and excited to hear Lucifer’s opinion on the hotel, but much to her dismay he explains their people are awful and heaven won’t understand. As the hotel is under attack, Lucifer smiles smugly and points out to Charlie how people bring violence and chaos no matter what. Later as Alastor begins to ravage Mimzy’s loan sharks, Lucifer explains more how sinners are violent psychopaths, however, Charlie expresses her frustration as she points out Alastor is defending the hotel for her. When she adds that Alastor seems to have more faith in her than her own father, this makes Lucifer frown. Charlie begs for his help, and a disheartened Lucifer refuses and explains she doesn’t understand.

Charlie and Lucifer embrace each other
He emphasizes Heaven doesn’t listen, and begins to tear up and sing “More Than Anything.” Throughout the musical number, he explains his dreams were like Charlie’s, and that she is the only thing worth fighting for, more than anything. He holds her hand and hugs her, explaining he doesn’t want her to be crushed like he has been. Charlie joins in and begins to sing about how she never knew her father too well, but that she was enthralled by his stories and tales. The scene shows scenes from Charlie’s childhood as she explains she imagined she could be in Lucifer’s stories, and how in the end that was the view she had. It is revealed how that was the reason Charlie realized dreams are worth fighting for. She sings how more than anything she needs to save the citizens of hell. They join in a duet as they come into a transformative moment of wanting to know each other and come to an understanding. Lucifer spreads his wings and begins to fly, as Charlie clings to him and smile widely. Lucifer promises he’ll support her dreams, at the end they sing how they’re grateful for each other, more than anything.
The scene makes Sir Pentious tear up, and after the song ends, Lucifer is now convinced and tells Charlie he’ll get her an audience with Heaven, before he disappears.
The Show Must Go On[]

Charlie pleasantly shocked to see Lucifer approaching Adam
When all hope seems to be lost as Adam chokes Charlie and prepares to kill her, Lucifer appears and punches Adam away. He catches Charlie who expresses her surprise but is nevertheless overjoyed. He apologizes for being late, smiling softly before he sets her down. Charlie gawks and smiles while Lucifer menacingly approaches Adam. Lucifer announces how, because Adam messed with his daughter, he’ll fuck Adam. The entire scene pauses in an awkward air, and Charlie leans in to whisper nervously, “It’s fuck you “up”…Dad.” Lucifer, smiling smugly, forgets his words and asks what he said before being interrupted by Adam charging at him.

Lucifer catches Charlie
Later as Charlie falls off the hotel, Lucifer promptly catches her, making her tear up and grin. While clinging onto him, Charlie punches at an approaching Adam with all her might.

Lucifer and Charlie enraged at Adam
The duo glares at Adam, both in their full demon form where Lucifer, consumed by rage, begins to madly assault Adam, only stopping after Charlie insists.
At the end of the battle with Adam deceased, Charlie tears up, disheartened at the loss of Sir Pentious and the ruin of the hotel. Lucifer frowns and is saddened by Charlie’s self-deprecation as she starts singing the finale song. Lucifer quickly lifts up her spirits and gives her his support, emphasizing how he knows she changed the town and that she can’t quit. The cast joins in the song as Charlie begins to change her mindset seeing the group sing together about rebuilding the hotel. At the end, the group rebuilds the hotel, all standing together with a brand-new hotel.
