Angel reportedly says he finds himself happy because of Charlie’s upbeat attitude, but that sometimes it annoys him. On the other hand, Charlie is noted to be the few who can see through Angel’s facade, and she has faith in Angel’s path to redemption. Charlie is enraged after seeing Valentino mistreat Angel and felt horrible after inadvertently causing his harm. Angel also begs Valentino to not hurt Charlie despite the drastic situation he was placed in.

“Dirty Healings” Comic[]

Angel thinks Charlie is a customer

Angel declines Charlie, thinking her a customer

Instructed by Valentino, Angel begins to search for customers as he notices a limo. This is where he meets Charlie and Vaggie, as he leans provocatively against the window, only to jolt back after seeing a grinning Charlie. He pulls back and declares he charges extra for women, leading Charlie to reach out and refute that they’re not looking for any of that. Charlie asks if she could talk to Angel who asks for a payment, to which she happily agrees. Angel is startled by her vibrant response but climbs into the limo, much to Vaggie’s chagrin. Charlie smiles and replies to Vaggie’s concerns that she can tell Angel is good. As they introduce themselves, Vaggie remains wary and on guard while Charlie, a little startled by Angel’s demeanor, smiles throughout the exchange. Charlie later explains they want Angel to be the Happy Hotel’s first test subject adding that Angel looks like someone who regrets his life choices.

Angel doesn’t believe Charlie

Angel confused by the money Charlie gave him

Angel expresses his mockery towards the prospect of the Happy Hotel, and Charlie tries her hardest to convince him. She laughs, asking if Angel’s job is enjoyable but quickly cuts herself off, not wanting to describe the service. Angel smirks and asks her to finish the sentence, but as Vaggie resorts that Angel isn’t a good candidate, he quickly agrees to staying at the Happy Hotel to find free housing. Charlie’s eyes begin to sparkle as she expresses her pleasant disbelief, and Angel explains he’ll head off before Charlie hands him a pile of dollar bills. Angel is quizzical, and with wide shimmering eyes Charlie explains the money is for Angel’s help.

Charlie believes in Angel

Charlie believes there’s more to Angel

He deadpans, not believing the generous offering before Charlie solemnly places a hand on Angel’s chest, saying there’s a lot more to him and that they’ll help him. Angel remains mute and shocked for a short while before scoffing that he won’t need any help, but nevertheless exits the limo, sheepishly thanking Charlie asking if they’ll stay in touch. Charlie shakes his hand and agrees, and Angel holds the pile of bills tightly as the limo drives off. Returning home, Angel ponders the concept of the Happy Hotel.

Charlie expresses her disappointment after Angel nearly tarnishes the Happy Hotel’s reputation. In the end, he resorts to walk away and leave her be.

Season 1[]

Overture[]

After watching Alastor’s rather problematic commercial, the crew is hesitant on how to attract citizens to the Hazbin Hotel. To this, Angel cuts in and explains he could use his “special skills”, in Charlie’s words, to bring people to the hotel. Charlie laughs nervously, protesting against this idea as she explains she doesn’t want to exploit Angel, but he claims they’ll attract many customers with their help. He explains sex sells and says their popularity would grow if they were to film him “going at it” with Alastor, and as Angel continues his speech Charlie walks off after she receives a call from her father.

Radio Killed the Video Star[]

Angel watches Charlie jump and slump on the couch after an attempt to recruit new sinners. Angel expresses his amusement at Charlie’s failure. When Charlie tries to take in Sir Pentious, Angel disagrees and asks if she’s nut, reminding her that Pentious tried to kill them multiple times. However, Charlie is vehement and explains Pentious deserves a second chance, much to Angel’s reluctance. Charlie brings Pentious into the hotel and calls him their first real guest, annoying Angel who rhetorically asks who he is in that case. To this, Charlie explains how Angel is an important part of their family, and an upset Angel softens his frowns a little at this.

Later, on Angel, deadpanning, calls Charlie’s introduction game stupid, to which she tries to get Angel to follow after Pentious. Not long after, Angel gets stuck in the role of the drug dealer in the skit, reading off Charlie’s script along with Sir Pentious. Offended, Angel asks who wrote the script, and a smiling Charlie asks him to keep acting out the script and gushes over her writing. She watches giddily as a frustrated Angel continues the skit with Pentious. Afterwards, Angel walks off, explaining he’ll head to bed, sadly staring back at Charlie praising Pentious. Saddened, Angel tenses when he hears Charlie tell Pentious he’ll be redeemed in no time, feeling doubt in whether he can truly be redeemed.

Masquerade[]

While watching Angel’s naughty video, Charlie watches in mute horror and afterwards comments that it’s very honest, while looking away gagging.

As Angel marches off in a huff, Charlie quickly stops him and urges him to stay back. Angel grabs her shoulder, explaining there’s nothing she can do as it’s his job while calling her “dollface.” Charlie groans, frustrated before, with Vaggie’s help, realize she can fix Angel’s boss by being “aggressively kind” in order to let Angel spend more time at the hotel.

However, much to Angel’s horror, as he is filming, Charlie storms into the studio. Angel catches her and expresses his confusion as to her sudden appearance, and she breaks into a dramatic twirl explaining she is using her authority as the Princess of Hell - right after, Charlie whispers kindly she’s here to get more time for Angel at the hotel, and he watches anxiously before pulling her away and explaining she should hog nowhere near Valentino. Charlie watches in confusion as a frantic Angel urges her out and begs her to show up later.

As Valentino takes note of Charlie and begins to lick her arm creepily, Angel shakes his hands in disapproval as Charlie begins to reason for Angel’s shortened work hours. Charlie goes around to advertise the hotel to workers and comments on the filming, much to Angel’s worry—Charlie inadvertently sets the studio on fire, and unbeknownst, causes Valentino to lash out on Angel in his dressing room and assault him.

Charlie’s reaction to Angel being mistreated

Charlie enraged by Valentino mistreating Angel

Even as Valentino threatens Val and threatens him madly, Angel begs him to not hurt Charlie. Afterwards, as Valentino grips Angel and throws him onto the set, Charlie manifests into her Full Demon Mode, absolutely enraged at the mistreatment — however, Angel steps in and angrily begs her to leave, before she ends up crying and vehemently apologizes to Angel. Afterwards, he shows his regret as Charlie leaves.

Angel forgives Charlie

The next day, Charlie shows her severe concern for Angel and explains she messed up at the studio, and subsequently hurt him. Charlie asks Husk and Vaggie to make sure Angel is okay and that they shouldn’t force Angel to come back, before apparently planning to write 100 apology letters. When Angel came back with Husk, Charlie tearfully hugs Angel, apologizing for not listening to him. Angel forgives her and thanks her for caring about him, patting her head awkwardly.

Angel hands Charlie to Vaggie

Angel awkwardly hands Charlie to Vaggie

Charlie starts to sob even more, and Angel rips her off his body and hands her to Vaggie, saying, “I think this is yours.” While Vaggie bridal-carries Angel, Charlie cries about how beautiful the forgiveness was as Angel and Husk deadpan at the scene.

Welcome To Heaven[]

Charlie is determined and confident that Angel can continue his path to redemption, and as the court observes Angel she excitedly emphasizes his virtuous actions, having faith in him to make the right decision. Later, Charlie tenses and scowls when Lute insults Angel during “You Didn’t Know.”
