No matter what question you pose to her, Lynette just calmly lowers her eyes with an expressionless look on her face. It's like she's some sort of... clockwork doll. I'm really tempted to write an article titled something like: "The Genius Magician's Puppet Assistant: Magic's Best-Kept Secret"... but I have a sneaking suspicion that even that wouldn't get a reaction out of her.
—Charlotte's voiceline about Lynette

Charnette is the femslash ship between Charlotte and Lynette Snezhevna from the Genshin Impact fandom.

Canon[]

As of right now, Charlotte and Lynette have had minimal, surface-level interactions, however, they have voicelines about each other. In Lynette's voiceline about Charlotte, she speaks of Charlotte's interest in interviewing Lyney and Lynette. Despite the fact that neither Lyney nor Lynette has ever consented to being interviewed by Charlotte, Lynette openly admits she finds Charlotte's persistence quite admirable. Charlotte, on the other hand, is intriuged by Lynette's lack of expression and her almost robotic movements, almost as if she's some sort of "Clockwork doll."

For backround information, both Charlotte and Lynette are from Fontaine. Charlotte works as a journalist with the Steambird, whilst Lynette is a magician. Charlotte bears a Cryo vision, using a catalyst as her weapon. Lynette, on the other hand, Posesses an Anemo vision, and uses a sword in combat.

Charlotte and Lynette have very different personalities, they're practically polar opposites. Charlotte is seen as someone who is extremely extroverted, ambitious, charasmatic, and emotionally intelligent. She has a strange habit of randomly popping up literally anywhere and everywhere in Fontaine. She believes being "Nearer to the action is closer to the truth," Charlotte records the "truth" using her trusty Kamera, who she named "Monsieur Verite." Lynette, however, exhibits behaviours and thoughts that are the stark opposite of Charlotte. Lynette is more introverted, calm, emotionally inexpressive, and independent. She is more reserved and private, preferring not to bask in the attention she often recieves. She rarely talks to others unless she deems it necessary to, and likes it better when Lyney does it for her. To avoid conversation, Lynette often uses strange phrases while talking, or answers bizzarly. Whenever she does speak, she tends to speak briefly and honestly.

Quotes[]

“Uh... I was eventually cornered by her for interviews a few times. The way she persistently asked even after Lyney rejected her all those times, I really have to commend her perseverance. Too bad for her, though... despite preparing all those questions, I never answered a single one.”

Fanon[]

Despite their limited canon interaction, fans of Charnette are drawn to the intriguing contrast between Charlotte's extroverted, vibrant nature and Lynette's calm, mysterious demeanor. In fanon works, their relationship is often portrayed as a classic “opposites attract” dynamic—Charlotte being the sunshine to Lynette’s moonlight. Charlotte’s persistence and emotional expressiveness are imagined to gradually draw Lynette out of her shell, while Lynette’s quiet strength and honesty ground Charlotte’s boundless energy.

In fanon, Charlotte is typically the more vocal and affectionate partner, often surprising Lynette with spontaneous visits, thoughtful gestures, or sly attempts to “interview” her under the guise of spending time together. Lynette, though initially aloof, is shown to appreciate Charlotte’s presence in subtle ways—like listening more attentively than she lets on or letting her guard down when it’s just the two of them.
