Charry is the het ship between Harry Potter and Cho Chang from the Harry Potter fandom.
Canon[]
The two first met when Harry was in his third year and Cho was in her fourth year. The two were Seekers of their respective Quidditch teams. During this time, Harry started to have crush on Cho, noticing she was pretty. The following year, Harry asked Cho to go to the Yule Ball with him but Cho rejected, as she was already going with Cedric Diggory. Cho felt sorry for rejecting Harry.
Following Cedric's death, Cho believed Harry's claim of Lord Voldemort's return. She sought out to talk with Harry several times in order to talk about the circumstances of Cedric's death and also due to a growing fondness for Harry. However, these encounters did not go well. During that year, Cho became a member of Dumbledore's Army, a group lead by Harry in order to secretly teach students Defence Against the Dark Arts. Cho felt like Harry was a good teacher. Following a D.A. meeting shortly before Christmas, Cho and Harry kissed under a mistletoe. However, Harry did not enjoy the kiss.
The two went on a date on Valentine's Day, but it did not go well. Cho felt jealous of Harry's friendship with Hermione Granger and Harry refused to talk about Cedric. Some time after the failed date, their relationship eased following the release of Harry's interview in The Quibbler. The relationship ended after Cho's best friend Marietta Edgecombe betrayed the D.A. and Cho defended her. At the end of the school year, Cho started dating Ginny Weasley's ex-boyfriend, Michael Corner, while Harry started having feelings for Ginny. During the following year, Harry and Cho avoided each other.
During the Battle of Hogwarts, Cho no longer had negative feelings for Harry as she offered to escort Harry to the Ravenclaw tower and felt disappointed when Ginny wanted Luna to escort him instead.
Fanon[]
Charry is generally not a very liked ship, and most fans prefer Hinny or a non-canon pairing. It is still not without support and has fanfiction. On AO3, it is the second most written ship for Cho but not among the top ships for Harry. Given the circumstances of this ship, many authors' preference in writing it is to depict Harry and Cho as adults having a second chance, rather than as their emotionally fraught teenaged selves.
