Emma dumps Chase.
In Chase's audition tape, he mentions how people might know him from his livestream: "Three Guys and a Girl in a Beach House," with the girl being Emma. However, he says that Emma dumped him "out of nowhere," so it's now only called "Three Guys in a Beach House." After Chase steps on the dock, Chris announces the next contestant will be Emma, causing Chase to turn around panicked and say "What the who now?" In Emma's audition tape, she says that she used to be part of a livestream, with her boyfriend and his friends, but that she isn't part of it anymore because her "stupid boyfriend, Chase" is now her "stupid ex-boyfriend" and that she's never going to see him again. As she says this in the tape, Emma is shooting arrows at a photo of Chase using a bow.
Emma attempts to attack Chase.
Upon seeing Chase on the dock, she angrily shouts and points at him, yelling "What is he doing here?!" Chase smiles at her as he calls her "babe," causing Emma to jump at him and try to hurt him. Chris holds her back while Bowie enjoys her viciousness, as Chris implies that he purposefully brought them both on the show. The two are placed on separate teams, with Chase on the "Ferocious Trout" and Emma on the "Frogs of Death." Before the challenge, Emma is angry that Chase is there since she believes it's supposed to be her competition. Bowie comforts her, asking what happened between them, but Emma doesn't want to talk about it.
Emma yells at Chase.
During the challenge, Emma encourages her team, but Chase believes that she's talking to him, thanking her for the help. Emma says that she wasn't talking to him and that he's doing horrible, saying he can't call her "babe" anymore. Chase doesn't understand why she's so mad, enraging Emma. She yells at him, saying that it's because he cut the breaks on her car, but Chase doesn't get why she's still upset about that. Emma tells him that she's upset because he made her crash into a pet store, and that she's going to donate a cut of the million to an animal hospital if she wins. During the elimination, Emma almost gets out due to costing the challenge by yelling at Chase, which caused them to lose their lead.

Chemma is one of the ships of the reboot that is debated among many. Although some people enjoy this ship, some don't. One of the reasons people like the ship is because of the dynamic in the show. However, people also don't like it because some of them might not like either Chase or Emma as single characters, or they believe one doesn't deserve the other. Despite it being canon, Chemma sometimes lurks in the shadows of more popular ships, like Chipper or Emmayne. There are also some cargo ships that others like more than Chemma, in a joking way, such as Chizza. As of January 26th, 2024, 32 fanworks exist on AO3.

- This is one of five pairs of contestants to have known each other before the show (excluding Ridonculous Race). The others are Katie and Sadie, Duncan and Mal, Amy and Samey, and Wayne and Raj.
