Cherryblast is the het ship between Girlfriend and Pico from the Friday Night Funkin' fandom.

Canon

Girlfriend and Pico have a relatively decent relationship that stems of respectable partnership in game events. In week 3, the week against Pico as a rival rapper, in storyline Pico was originally tasked to assassinate Boyfriend under the orders of Daddy Dearest, Girfriend's father. Realizing that his target is his ex, Pico immediately backs down and pursues in a rap battle instead to relive the old times. Girlfriend bops her head melodically to their beats all the while. Pico rejoins the two lovebirds after they boarded a sabotaged plane (Work of Girlfriend's parents) that dropped them into a restricted military ground.

Once Tankman, the contestant, grows aggravated with their presence and his own continuous losses, he orders his men to shoot down Girlfriend. Right before Girlfriend could unleash her demonic powers, Pico does the dirty work for her and successfully rescues her. As the battle continues, Pico shoots down the guards as Girlfriend and Boyfriend rap. From the looks of the game, or generally because it's difficult to discern Girlfriend's thoughts in-game, she seems to be respectful towards Pico and doesn't hold resentment for him. However, Pico's true colors suggests a different outlook.

Come the new Pico skin for the official game, an animation of him shooting at outboard cutouts of various characters appears on the winning screen. Notably, when Boyfriend's appears, he refuses to lay a bullet, but the minute Girlfriend's pops up, he unhesitatingly shoots her down, seemingly dealing more damage than the others. This could suggest jealousy of her and Boyfriend's successful romance or distrust in her due to being a demon. So it can be said that the reason behind his heroic act was born out of begrudging respect for Boyfriend happiness.

The Cherryblast ship is relatively popular within both fandoms with over 140+ romantic works on AO3. Respective fans turned shippers find attraction to their dynamic, with Pico being the badass gunslinger and Girlfriend being the hot demon. The ship is easily rivaled with BoyGirl and Boyfrico. When the two are paired together in a non-romantic light, they're typically rivals for Boyfriend's affection. Fans of all ships may support the poly ship, Funkin' Trio.
