Chevyaka is the femslash ship between Chevreuse and Kamisato Ayaka from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
Prior to Roses and Muskets, Chevreuse and Ayaka have unsurprisingly never met due to the two living in different regions. In their respective said regions, they both take on important occupations making them well-known and respected. Ayaka is a Yashiro Commissioner, while Chevreuse is the captain of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol.
During the events of Roses and Muskets, Ayaka travels to Fontaine with Yoimiya and her brother as part of an agreement to act in Xaiver's film. With Chevreuse eventually agreeing to help as well, she and Ayaka meet for the first time.
Roses and Muskets[]
In need of an action choreographer for Xaiver's film, Chiori suggests asking Chevreuse if she would be interested. The latter accepts, and everyone assisting with the film meets up the next day. While Xaiver gives a speech, Ayaka is seen sitting on a chair to get her makeup done by Chiori, with Chevreuse standing beside her. Before the shooting of the first scene starts, the two and Veronique stand in front of a table, looking over at the prop muskets. Ayaka asks if it is real out of curiosity, Veronique informing her it is not. After back and forth conversing with the latter and Chevreuse, Ayaka comments that Chevreuse seems to be quite knowledgeable about muskets. Chevreuse responds she performs routine maintenance on her weapons daily, and the former relates to this, telling Chevreuse "I also perform similar care for my sword every day, and familiarize myself with its shape and weight... to the point where it feels like a natural extension of my body." Chevreuse agrees and adds on, Ayaka concluding they share the same perception of weapons, which Paimon remarks as well. Chevreuse offers to help Ayaka in the use of the prop muskets, and begins instructing her. Ayaka pratices her script lines while being guided and shown a demonstration by Chevreuse. Seeing this, Ayato decides to give his role as a lead actor to her. He discusses this with Furina, who calls Ayaka and Chevreuse over. Once told what is happening, Chevreuse is taken aback, while Ayaka is unsure. However, Ayato insists this will help him focus on his work, and Furina states this change will help convey the story more clearly. Chevreuse agrees due to her fondness of the character, and Ayaka tells her she looks forward to working together. Later, Chiori questions Ayato's true reason for giving up the role, so the latter explains he wants to give Ayaka the opportunity to make new friends without him always being by her side.
Getting ready to film the first scene at last, Furina goes over the story. The scene depicts two sisters named Iris and Tulipe (played by Ayaka and Chevreuse respectively) wondering where their mother Rain (played by Elain) has gone. Once home, Rain comforts the two over their sadness that no one is willing to spend time with them. After the take is finished, Ayaka expresses her worry that she would mess up, then asks Chevreuse how she felt. Chevreuse responds the lines were not difficult, which helped her act confidently. Furina announces everyone will move to the next scene after adjusting some details of the first. This scene depicts Iris and Tulipe returning to their house, and then discovering their mother killed with poison on the floor. The two mourn her death before leaving to find somewhere else to stay out of fear. Afterwards, Furina claps, remarking how great the performance was. Yoimiya and Chevreuse both appear surprised at Ayaka shedding real tears during her act, which she explains was because she "felt the weight of the moment, and became the character".
Everyone continues filming and acting for the next few days, and eventually progress to a scene where Iris and Tulipe confront their father for the death of their mother. The two engage in a battle with him, gaining the upper hand and then shooting him dead. Iris and Tulipe then go visit their mother's grave, ending the scene. Both Paimon and Traveler congratulate Ayaka and Chevreuse for their efforts, before the latter leaves to inspect something.
The next day, all the filming needed finishes, followed by a celebration party thrown at the beach. Chevreuse is not present for the first few hours due to a case she is attempting to solve, but heads over once she is done. Ayaka tells her she would like to share good news with her.
Ayaka and Chevreuse are seen together again during the announcement of the winner of the Fontinalia Film Festival, where the two reminisce about their experiences of acting. Chevreuse asks Ayaka if she will ever revisit Fontaine, to which she replies she will, and then asks Chevreuse if she would ever visit Inazuma. Chevreuse informs Ayaka she'd be willing to consider it, and the two agree to keep in touch.
Fanon[]
Before the release of the Roses and Muskets event, Chevyaka was a very small, if not non-existent rarepair. However, fans noticed how well they got along due to their similar interests, even pointed out by in-game characters, and saw this as a reason to ship them. There were many side conversations featuring the two in the event, giving their dynamic more room to grow and be explored. The most notable of these conversations was where the two discussed visiting each other's regions, creating anticipation in the fandom for their next meeting. Despite all of this, Chevyaka still remains a rarepair compared to ships like Cheviori and Ayamiya, the latter overshadowing it more due to Ayaka and Yoimiya having close interactions in the same event Chevyaka emerged from.
