Chortegas is the femslash ship between Christine Chapel and Erica Ortegas from the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fandom.

Chapel and Erica head to sickbay to pick up M'Benga for shore leave. M'Benga is still getting his data together for his meeting with Dr. Berroa and Erica asks if that his "you know what". Chapel says she's his science partner working in cutting edge medicine and Erica asks if Chapel is excited to see Dever again. Chapel is and Erica asks how she wants to play it this time in case things go bad. Chapel says there won't be a need since both she and Dever are on the same zero commitments page. Erica says that she said the same thing about a gal from before, but Chapel insists that that was a misunderstanding. Erica says it was entertaining and Chapel asks how being chased by blaster fire fun. They then both make fun of M'Benga when he puts on his fly fishing hat.
Later, Erica asks Chapel if she told Dever how she really feels, but Chapel was worried he'd try and get serious again. Erica asks what he did and Chapel says he tried to read her some of his poetry. Erica asks if it's any good and oddly Chapel didn't find it terrible. Chapel says that it's time to set some boundaries and Erica says that's smart when she sees "T'Pring" walking towards them. Erica says she looks pissed and Chapel tells Erica that she gave Spock relationship advice. Erica says that she should have never gotten in the middle of a Vulcan relationship and has scars from when she did that. T'Pring asks if she can talk to Chapel alone and Erica tells Chapel good luck as she leaves.
At dinner later, Erica asks how things ended with Dever and Chapel says that she told him how boring he was. Erica says that Chapel should try that next time she's in a relationship and Chapel asks what she means. Erica says that she should try being honest and Chapel says that means a relationship might get serious. Erica just gives her a "so" and Chapel says that it would have to be the right guy. She thinks for a moment and Erica asks what it is, but Chapel says that it's nothing.

Chortegas is a fairly popular ship in the Strange New Worlds fandom. The ship initially got some fans after episode two showed the two close together during the dinner in episode two. It gained some more fans after episode five showed that they were friends, and apparently known each other a while. This was also the same episode that revealed that Christine was bi, so it caused many to become interested in a potential relationship between her and one of the female members of the crew. The ending also seemed to indicate to some the Christine might fall for Erica or that they writers were setting up a romance of the two. Their mutual snark and chemistry also led to many seeing the potential of the ship.
On AO3, Chortegas is the most written ship for Erica and fifth most written for Chapel. It is also the sixth most written ship in the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds tag. There are currently 160+ written works.
