Chref is the slash ship between Chris McLean and Chef Hatchet from the Total Drama fandom.
Canon[]
Chris and Chef are the two hosts of Total Drama. Early on in Total Drama Island, they share very little major interaction apart from positive experiences such as Chef explaining his war stories to Chris or praising Chris' hosting skills and cradling him. But in Total Drama Action, their dynamic would become sour as a result of Chris refusing to pay Chef. This leads to Chef very frequently losing his temper with Chris and the show overall. He sometimes even demands a paycheck or expresses absolutely no concern for the contestants when they nearly drowned. By “Mutiny on the Soundstage”, Chef was fully willing to quit on Chris due to getting a cheffing job on a five-star cruise. But the two would later make up and agree to make the challenge tougher for the finalists, Beth and Duncan, together.
In Total Drama World Tour, Chef berates Chris after the plane is stranded in Jamaica for spending all their budget on his own personal desires. Chef would also get into a slap fight with Chris for control over the plane in the Rapa Nui episode. Chef becomes increasingly annoyed with Chris during Total Drama: Revenge of the Island. This extends to a point where he made Chris's bomb prank backfire at his own expense. Chef would deviously smirk after Chris lands in the water. But Chef would come to get Chris out of prison by Total Drama All-Stars so they could host the season together and Chris gets mad at him for not coming sooner. In “The Final Wreck-ening”, Chef fires at Chris when the latter makes fun of his poor shooting. In Total Drama: Pahkitew Island, it appears as if Chris and Chef get along better. They even had a plan to get fake passports and move away together if anything tragic happened to the season's cast. In Total Drama 2023, the two host the show together.
The creators have confirmed they have no romantic attraction to each other.

Due to the ship teasing between the two, Chref is a very popular ship in the Total Drama community. One of the most popular overall, even. The producers of Total Drama frequently provide comedic scenes for Chris and Chef's dynamic, pleasing fans of the ship and people who are just fans of their canon friendship.
