Chruri is the het ship between Chrome and Ruri from Dr. Stone fandom.
Canon[]
Chrome and Ruri are childhood best friends. Since a very early age, Ruri got sick of pneumonia. Given the lack of any medicine or science to the Ishigami Village prior to Senku's arrival, there wasn't much to be done in order to help Ruri recover. Given the situation and inspired by the Minerals Tale in the 100 Tales, Chrome decides to isolate himself from the village to become a sorcerer in order to find a way to save Ruri's live. For the next years he dedicated himself to collect minerals, plants and other important materials in order to find a cure for Ruri. He tries all kinds of things and tests them on himself with no luck to find a cure.
Later, upon Senku's arrival, he becomes his rival for a short time but then they befriend each other and Chrome becomes his apprentice in a way. Senku already knew about Ruri's illness before he met Chrome because Kohaku, Ruri's sister, had told him about it. Senku was already planning to save Ruri for both personal intrests and compassionate reasons. When Chrome learns this information, he's hesitant at first but agrees to help, unsure if Senku was actually able to make the cure or not. But determined to help Ruri. He falls in love with science and gives up on his sorcerer title.
When collecting iron sand from a nearby river, Senku says he's very interested in meeting Ruri. Although Senku says it because he's interested in knowing if she had any more information about humanity's petrification and the 100 Tales, Chrome misinterprets it as an intrest for a romantic approach, becoming jealous. Kohaku then explains the situation to Senku who finds it entertaining.
During the grand bout, Chrome is aware of the lack of advantage he had in all physical strength and combat aspects but still gave his all to win, something Ruri seemed pretty pleased at, as she favored him as a winner. However, in the last round against Senku he passes out immedately away given the exhausting experience of going against Magma and Ginro, making Senku win. Senku wanted Chrome to win the Grand Bout because they got the same benefits as if he himself did (which he indeed did) but with finally making Chrome and Ruri be together. Something that obviously both Chrome and Ruri wanted. Senku won the Bout and married Ruri to become Village Chief, but divorces her short after aware that Chrome should be the one who ultimately should marry Ruri given the sincerity of Chrome's feelings for her and her correspondence. That night Kohaku proposed to Chrome to marry her instead if he wanted given that she and Ruri look virtually the same, but Chrome rejects the proposal as he remains loyal to his feelings for Ruri.
Chrome risks his life in multiple occasions such as going to aquire sulphuric acid from some nearby springs in order to make suplha medicine (antibiotics) for her.
When the medicine is done and they finally heal her, he becomes very happy.
When the Kingdom of Science made the first pair of phones during the Stone Wars Arc, Chrome calls Ruri to test the phones out. Ishigami Village people encourage Chrome to confess his feelings for te through the phone given the importance of the moment but he fails to realize and says "Science is bad!". Ruri smiles at this.
After this, the series no longer focuses that much on them but implies that their feelings remain the same.
When Chrome, Senku, Gen, Ukyo and Ryusui sail not too far off coast to test their first modern equipped boat, Ruri calls them and was about to confess her feelings to Chrome on the phone encouraged by some of the villagers such as Ginro. However, when she was about to say it, the call gets interrupted by Whyman's ominous "W-H-Y" morse code message signal.
When voyaging through the world, Ruri stays at Ishigami Village in Japan but is concerned about everyone including Chrome.
After the world is restored into a civilization of Science several years later, during Yuzuriha's and Taiju's wedding, Chrome casually tells Ruri they should get married after him and Senku finish the "super bad" Science project they're doing on the last chapter. Ruri timidly agrees, not because she didn't want to marry Chrome but more because of the directness of the proposal.
On the additional manga 4D Science, Chrome and Ruri get married.
Fanon[]
Chruri doesn't get much attention within the Dr Stone fandom due to the ship not being as developed as other more popular couples in the manga. Despite this, shippers liked the dynamic between Chrome and Ruri, praising Chrome's mission to save Ruri and finding their subsequent interactions cute and healthy. Majority of the fans' opinions on the ship is leaning towards romantic, as the two are confirmed to be in love with one another. Other fans, which are a minority, prefer to view the pair leaning towards platonic, preferring Ukrome on Chrome's side and SenRuri, a semi-canon pairing, on Ruri’s side.
Chruri is often compared and shipped alongside TaiYuzu due to both couples being about childhood friends with a passionate and dedicated boy, and a calm and sweet girl who supports him. The shippers' friendship only grew stronger when both couples became official at the end of the manga in adorable wedding scenes. On AO3, the ship has 184 fanfics on the romantic side of it and only 27 that focus on friendship side of the ship. Based on the amount of fanfics, Chruri is the most written ship for both Chrome and Ruri.
