ChuuAki is the het ship between Chuuya Nakahara and Akiko Yosano from the Bungou Stray Dogs fandom.
Canon[]
Chuuya and Yosano were formerly direct enemies for a short time, Chuuya being of the Port Mafia, and Yosano of the Armed detective Agency. Despite being enemies, Chuuya doesn’t seem to dislike Yosano or hold any grudges, and in fact was extremely invigorated by her threat to cut off his limbs. The two in fact have many traits in common. They both like drinking, have strong and threatening personalities and always enjoy a fight, appearing to have fun in them. They are both taunting, and have a similarly sadistic and violent nature in battles.
Chuuya and Yosano met when Chuuya invades the place where the agency is hiding, so Yosano and Kenji go to him to face him. Chuuya complains that there are only two who came to fight him, commenting that he’s been belittled. Sneakily, Yosano rebuttals that Chuuya can leave if he’s unsatisfied by the reception. Chuuya asks if the mafia needs an appointment when they’re here to tear down the base, to which Kenji happily raises his hand and answers that he thinks not. Yosano says that Kenji is right, and tells Chuuya to tear down the base if wanted.
Yosano threatens Chuuya
Yosano then asserts that Chuuya isn’t here for that. He shows a visible surprise at her conjecture, as she continues that since three detectives, it’s logical they can deduce the purpose of a client’s visit. Chuuya asks Yosano where the president is, to which she points at the security camera. After Chuuya talks to the president, Yosano smiles and calls it quite an offer. She then suggests something else in mind, showing her weapon she threatens she can amputate his members and make him spit out his plans, while smiling. Chuuya looks excited and says this is an incredible idea, and provokes her by saying that she can try.
Yosano orders Chuuya to come back down
Yosano calls Kenji and they begin to fight Chuuya. Chuuya knocks down Kenji easily, and is surprised as Yosano goes to attack him from behind. However, Chuuya easily uses his gravity manipulation and he quickly stands on the ceiling, smiling. Yosano looks both surprised and annoyed, as Yosano soon concludes and asks if he is Nakahara Chuuya, the manipulator of gravity, making him scoff saying Dazai must’ve run his mouth. In the manga, Chuuya spins around on the ceiling, making Yosano fume and order him to get back down. Chuuya then jumps back down, which startles Yosano, annd he asks who will want to face gravity. Afterwards, Yosano stares at Chuuya and ponders the mafia’s plan to force the agency into fighting the Guild. Chuuya smiles at her assessment and announces the agency will definitely fall for it.
Much later, Chuuya helps the Agency to escape from Tecchou and Jouno, specifically aiding Yosano who was seconds from being killed, but they do not get to interact.
Fanon[]
ChuuAki is not as popular as other ships like Soukoku and Ranposano. Even so, the ship gained its followers. The fandom quite liked the performance of the two in the fight when they met, guessing if they were to interact more they’d become great friends. Their similarities and kindred personalities was quite popular for fans to pair them together, platonically or not, as fans enjoyed the idea of further interactions.
On AO3, the ship currently has 78 works. It is the eleventh most popular for Chuuya and the third most popular for Yosano. Even so, overall the ship is a rare pair in the fandom.
