In the game's canon, Castorice and Cipher are acquainted, with teasing and admiration on Cipher's side. Cipher calls Castorice "Princess Homebody" and finds Castorice's possessions, such as her dragon and scythe, very interesting.
Castorice thinks of Cipher as a mysterious character, often lurking in the shadows. However, when Cipher mentions how the Flame-Chase Journey will leave her with nothing, Castorice feels an unspoken sorrow behind her words.
Castorice's Character Story: Part III[]
Castorice's 3rd character story describes a nightmare that clings to her time and time again. In the said nightmare, all those she cares for end up dead in her arms, with Aglaea embracing her and Tribbie turning into a plush toy and sinking into her arms. However, as Castorice reaches for those scattering petals, that agile thief, Cipher, catches her hand, giving Castorice her "last reward." As Cipher holds Castorice's hand, she asks Castorice to do her a favour, even if it meant cheating death.
