Claja is the femslash ship between Claire Nuñez and Aja Tarron from the Tales of Arcadia fandom.

Canon

Trollhunters

Claire met Aja Tarron and her younger brother, Krel when Jim was assigned to show the siblings their small town, and since Claire needed to help her friends collect the items on Merlin's list they combined the two tasks together. While doing what they can to keep the existence of trolls a secret to Aja and Krel, and even though Aja and her brother are very odd themselves Claire failed to notice the signs that Aja isn't human. After Claire shows Aja the "teen centre" on their tour she takes the Tarrons to her house, since Claire's mother is the censual woman and hopes that the said fact would make the rest of their tour appear normal as possible. Not fulling knowing what a censual woman is, Aja asks Claire if her mother's leadership role makes her a "censual princess," Claire didn't think much about Aja's question as she was more focused on detracting the Tarrons after she accidently mentions Merlin under her breath.

Once Aja learned that Claire's friends are trying to place lightning in a bottle she officers them her assistance, since it was the most impossible item on the list Claire and her friends welcomed the help. As Aja's brother turns the jar into a lighting catcher, the older Tarron sibling ensure that they get the lightning they need from the power plant. Claire is the first to approach Aja as the later uses the laptop in Claire's room to hack into the plant and was amazed by it, but when Claire asks Aja if what she is she doing for them is legal, Aja doesn't know what that word means on Earth and asks Claire if she could explain it to her. Shortly after Aja's hacking helped her new friends get the last item on their list, Claire thanks Aja and Krel and tells them that they are amazing. With summer drawing near, Claire hopes to see the Tarrons again around that time and Aja subjects that they could meet up at the "teen centre" before they parted ways.

At Battle of the Bands Claire gets on the stage to inform the town of what is about to happen, after Aja did her number with Krel. Aja listens to Claire's announcement and got worried when she said the word "alien" to describe the odd happenings in Arcadia. While being unware that aliens are in fact hiding in the said town or that she has already met some.

3Below

Part one takes place during the events of part three of Claire's first story, Trollhunters. While part two of 3Below takes place sometime after Claire had left Arcadia with the rest of its trolls, and even though she and Aja don't interact with one another during the second part of her story, Aja does hear a few things about Claire from her friend Toby.

Before 3Below shows its side of "In Good Hands", "D'aja Vu" reveals that the two had met long before that day when trolls from Claire's world and alien tech from Aja's gets the two trapped in a time loop. When Claire and her friends failed to catch the troll that is causing it, along with Aja getting roped into their trollhunting duties when Porgon attacked the science centre. Shortly after Claire saw Aja use her serrator to block the troll's attack, she tells Jim to trust Aja before Porgon reset the day. Claire had no memory of the time loop while Aja does and didn't fully know that was happening, until Jim realized Aja's serrator is protecting her memories and got her to do the same for Claire and the other. After Claire learned that Aja is an alien, while Aja learns that Claire is friends with trolls. The discovering of alien existence amazed Claire as she took a quick look around Aja's house, before their two groups form a plan of attack. Even though their combined actions allowed them to defeat Porgon and get the piece of Akkadian tech away from him, House Tarron and Team Trollhunters has accidently exposed their secrets to a large crowd of people. In order to main taint their secrets again, they'll have to make one last time jump that will allow Claire's group to defeat Porgon before he finds the alien tech from Aja's home planet, but it will undo the events that allowed their paths to cross and lose their memories of one another. The thought sadden Aja, but Claire's friend Blinky reassures them that fate and the friendship they formed with one another will someday bring them together again. With that thought giving them hope, the girls and their friends go through with the jump.

The day before Aja meets re-met Claire at school in "Lightning in a Bottle" (the 3Below side of the events from the Trollhunters episode "In Good Hands"), the Akiridion Princess sees Claire in the forest from afar and the blue glow from the Amulet of Daylight got her to think that Claire and her friends had found her missing weapon. Just like how Claire did her best to keep Aja from learning about the Trolls in Arcadia, Aja wanted to get her "weapon" back without their knowledge. When Claire learned from Aja that Krel is going against Seamus Johnson in the math duel, she was surprised by it. Before Aja met Claire and her friends, she was made to think that being weird was a bad thing, but their own oddness helped the Tarrons to learn that it can also be a good thing. That is why Aja wasn't upset when she learned that Claire and her friends never had her missing serrator to begin with, but is glad that she and Krel were able to help their new friends.

• Aja hears Mary say Claire's name, as well as learning one of Claire's nicknames, when Claire called Mary. Claire calling Mary at that very moment is what allowed Aja to learn that they can defeat the Skeltegs with high pick music.

D'aja Vu

• Claire becomes aware of the hardships Aja faced before coming to Earth, when Aja stated why she can't be patient.

Last Night on Earth

• Aja sees Claire fighting the Gumm-Gumm Army with her friends and wanted to help them save the town, but trouble was happening at the Mother Ship kept her from doing so.

Fanon

Claja is a rarepair since the two have short interactions with one another in both Trollhunters and 3Below, but both Claire and Aja being strong teenage girls who fight to keep Arcadia safe with their friends and have parents with leadership roles, while Claire and Aja wish for lives that they alone can choice for themselves has inspired fans to ship them. From believing that they aren't so different from one another and the friendship they formed in both "In Good Hands"/"Lightning in a Bottle" and "D'aja Vu" helps fans to support the ship, as well as expanding their friendship in fanon. Jlaire and Ajim fans, however, compare the brief look Claire gives Jim after she saw his hands on Aja's shoulders in "D'aja Vu" to the ones Jim gave Douxie a few times in part three of Trollhunters.

Claire and Aja being two of the main characters in their shows has got fans to view that as two of the main girls in the whole Tales of Arcadia series. Some fanfics has the two hanging out together with their groups or with Darci Scott and Mary Wang, who are friends with both girls. Aja not wanting to be a princess and Claire not liking the way her mother puts her pollical career over her own daughter, as fans seeing those said facts bringing the two as they support one another through the struggles it gives them. Along with them sharing stories about their little brothers, or simply have the two hangout and getting to know each other better when they go on double dates with Jim and Steve (when fans ship Jlaire and Staja beside one another).
