Clarice x Frost is the femslash ship between Clarice von Ducale and Frost von Galleria from the Marrying the Dark Knight (For Her Money) fandom.

Clarice and Frost meet for the very first time at their arranged wedding. Clarice had applied to the marriage due to Frost’s standing as a margrave and desiring Frost’s money for her own house, while Frost had been ordered by the king to get married to the first noble lady who applied. To Clarice’s horror, Frost had arrived at the wedding in a full suit of armor. Everyone in attendance is also terrified, and before the two newlyweds can kiss, a monster breaks through the wall and causes chaos. Frost obliterates the beast, splattering blood all over a petrified Clarice. The ceremony then resumes as if nothing happened; Clarice kisses Frost through Frost’s helmet, gets a blood-covered wedding ring put on her, and then goes to live at Frost’s estate.
Clarice is disheartened at first; Frost had not shown any interest in her at the wedding or afterwards. But she is determined to take over Frost’s fortunes for her family’s sake, so she starts making plans on how to get Frost to fall in love with her. Clarice then heads over to Frost’s room for their wedding night, only to encounter a crudely written sign that says “no need for a wedding night.” Angered, Clarice bursts into the room anyway, only to come across a beautiful woman she mistakes as a mistress of Frost’s at first. After discovering that the woman is actually Frost, however, Clarice wastes no time in putting her plans into motion, albeit adjusted for a woman rather than a man now. Frost is not moved in the slightest, though, and threatens to kill Clarice for discovering her secret.
With a sword at her neck, Clarice internally panics, unsure as to what to say that won’t end in her death. In the end, she decides to double down on her plan, proclaiming her supposed love for Frost in more and more exaggerated ways. Baffled, Frost lets her go. Clarice decides to step up her plans by befriending the maids and figuring out what she can do to appeal to Frost. Parts of her plans include cooking meals for Frost, playing tabletop games with her, and going on outings together, all of which have been successful in getting Frost to slowly warm up to Clarice so far.

Clarice x Frost is a ship that garnered initial attention for being a yuri pairing based on the “height difference” trope, with many fans being happy that the “taller person” is actually indeed a very tall person and not just someone wearing oversized armor. After the intro chapter was released, many readers became hooked on the pair’s comedic dynamic (especially Clarice’s overeagerness to “love” the Black Knight and Frost’s reactions to that) in an otherwise dark story setting. Fans have praised the execution of the development of the pairing’s relationship and are cheering on Clarice to get Frost to fall in love with her (and vice versa). To many readers, Clarice’s gold-digging personality and Frost’s murderous one make for an uniquely interesting and hilariously chaotic match up. Due to Clarice’s headstrong character, fans have joked that Frost may be the bottom in their relationship.
