Jonathan Kent is the son Clark has with Lois Lane, and is a child of two worlds. Making him stronger than his father. This version of the Kent-Lane family were originally from another Earth, before travelling to the New Rebirth Earth to raise their son in peace as the Smiths. Because Jon's powers didn't emerged until he got older, Clark gave him the same type of childhood that his adopted parents gave him in Smallville. Allowing Jon to have a normal life, while being aware that his dad is secretly a superhero. Like most superhero parents, Clark struggles with balancing his hero duties and civilian job with the times Jon would like to spend with his dad. Clark does try to be a good father and hero for his son, and Jon knowing his father's secret does help him to understand why he can't always be there or ends up running late for the activities and events he would like both of his parents to be part of. After Jon's powers started to awaken and began his journey to become the new Superboy, Clark gave his son a pair of glasses to help him keep his identity safe.
Young Justice[]
Because the series commonly focuses on the young DC heroes than the adult members of the Justice League, moments between Clark and little Jon Kent are limited and were mostly seen together in the Phantoms season. Even though Clark's duties as Superman has him leaving Lois to raise Jon and to take care of the messy jobs of parenthood, he is shown to love his son every much. He named Connor Jon's uncle and let him hold Jon on the day he was born. Through a phone call Superman has with Lois it revealed that Jon's powers have awaked very early than he had expected them too, when Lois told him that she found poop on the ceiling and he began to suspect that Jon already knows how to hover, along with him dashing home after hearing Jon cry. He was worried that Jon's heat vision ability was one of the other powers to awaken early. Even though Clark and his wife decided to raise Jon in the city, they do bring him to Smallville whenever they are visiting Clark's parents.

Before baby Kal-El was placed in the rocket that brought him to Earth, his father hoped that his son would one day have a child of his own, so he would know the joy he had given his parents before their planet was destroyed. The grown up Kal-El granted his late father's wish when Clark Kent's wife, Lois gave birth to their son Jonathan Kent. Because Jon wasn't lifting cars above his head like his father had done when he was two, Clark and Lois decided to keep Jon in the dark until his powers emerge. Allowing Jon to grown up as a normal boy from Smallville, who is a fan of Superman while having no idea that he is in fact his father. Who is always away most of the time and has a boring job like his mum. Making him wish that they had exiting jobs when he was asked to do a report on what his parents do for a living. Clark tries to make up for lost time when he gets back from saving the day, by helping Jon with his chores. While having some father and son fun as they do so.
On the day before Jon's birthday when both of his parents were away, Jon used the opportunity to search for his birthday gifts and ends up finding his dad's spare Superman suit, thinking that it was for cosplaying before he found one of his presents and was about to take a quite peak. Clark arrived home from his two weeks trip before Jon could do so and ran down stairs to walk his dad home. After Clark shared a fact about the ants he was doing a story on, he offers to help Jon with his chores to keep him from searching the house for his presents, since Jon hadn't got round to doing them when his dad was away. It had gotten dark when they were done and decided to look up at the stars as they wait for Lois to come home with the cake. Jon tells his father that while he knows that reporting is important, he wishes that Clark was around more. Clark wishes that he wasn't gone most of the time either, but his "job" requires him to make sacrifices. Before he goes to keep the Watchtower from falling, Jon asks his dad if he'll be able to attend his baseball game. Even though he tells Jon that he'll be there, his Superman duties kept him from doing so. Making Jon upset when he noticed that his dad failed to show up and affecting his play. Because Jon has gotten older, Lois advised her husband to give their son the truth talk.
Jon was too upset to hear his dad out when he tried to apologise. Thinking that his father cared more about his work than his own son. As Clark walks into his son's room, Jon had already climbed out the window and was making his way to the tower near their house. The anger and stress lead to Jon awaking his heat vision. Because Jon had no idea that it was one of the many abilities he got from his father, he was worried that he had became a danger from how his heat vision damaged the tower and ran into the barn to cry. This got Clark to change into his Superman suit as he tells Jon his secret. Jon was amazed that his dad is the Superman and began to ask many questions that relate to the perks of being a superhero's son. Not knowing if Jon has other abilities on the way, he takes him to Batman so they could run a quick scan. Superman was happy that Jon had taken the news well and is happy to discover that he is part alien. On the way to Gotham, he informs Jon about his real job and that he wants to keep his family safe from the dangers that come with it. Superman didn't like the way Batman's son, Damian Wayne treated Jon to test a theory and to see if he too is invulnerable. After Superman bought Jon home, before joining Batman to see what is wrong at the watchtower, he placed a small gift box beside his son's bed.

Out of all the children that Superman has had in the many different DC universes and medias, with Lois or Wonder Woman, Jon Kent is seen as one of people's most favourites, from how Jon is canon in the prime comics. Along with fans being drawn towards the father-son moments between Clark and Jon from the Rebirth Superman comics. As well as the brief moments between them in the Young Justice series and the 2022 CGI film of the Super Sons. Even though Battle of the Super Sons is about the titled two, some people also saw it as a father and son story between Jon and Clark. Due to Superman's role in Jon's origin story as Superboy and forming the young duo with Damian.
Some fans were upset when Jon's "growth spurt" got Clark to leave and left his son to protect Earth on his own. Even though the two stayed in touch to check on one another and to give Jon advice on how to be Superman. The group wanting the two to stay together has them preferring child Jon to adult Jon. With Jon having his childhood cut short was what got Clark to leave his grown up son. The suspected reboot of the DC universe has fans hoping for future moments between father and son.
