Coinpineedle is the poly ship between Coiny, Pin, and Needle from the Battle for Dream Island fandom.

Battle for Dream Island Again[]
As Donut, Coiny, and Pin walk to the elimination area, Needle and the rest of Team No-Name laughs at them. Afterwards, Needle and the rest of her team backs away when Pin asks if anyone wants to switch teams to her and Coiny.
Before the next challenge, Needle switches over to Coiny and Pin's team, W.O.A.H. Bunch. Later as the team is trying to kill their glass tank's bugs, Coiny gets poisoned and only Pin and Needle remain, which Pin points out to Needle.
At Cake at Stake, the three all survive over Teardrop, leaving the team to be just the three. Coiny refers to himself as surrounded by pins and needles, making both Pin and Needle mad at him for calling them that. The three work together to make a farm-themed Dream Island during the challenge and later show it to Puffball Speaker Box. Despite her hating farms, the team wins because Team No-Name's Dream Island was destroyed shortly before the challenge ended. Coiny and Pin high-five each other while Needle is left out, saddening her.
After the next Cake at Stake, their team W.O.A.H. Bunch ends up being tied for now having the most members. Coiny excitedly states this and Needle carries him over to Pin, who had lost her limbs during the ceremony.
During the challenge when Pin and Needle are unfrozen, Pin tells Needle that she wonders what will happen if she puts Coiny and Nickel next to each other after previously being warned not to. Needle shares that she thinks there's no point in waiting, which Pin agrees with. Pin kicks Coiny on top of Nickel, catching the interest of Needle and Pin as they watch. As a portal opens up on top of the frozen coins, Needle asks Pin if they should go in. Pin is hesitant to and claims it will ruin the fun. Right as Needle further questions this, an explosion occurs from the portal and shoots money up into the air to the two's delight. Later when the rest of the team is unfrozen, Pin and Needle refuse to tell Coiny how they ended up with a giant money bag.
After Cake at Stake, Golf Ball oversees Coiny, Pin, and Needle about eagerly ask if anyone would want to switch to their team, making Golf Ball worry that her team may lose members to them. This ends up working as Rocky switches to W.O.A.H. Bunch, with the three among the rest of the team welcoming him in. In the sleeping challenge, both Pin and Coiny support Needle's idea of placing headphones on their opponent teams to prevent them from resting.
For the loser chamber building contest, Coiny and Needle dismantle spaceships to collect the metal from it. Pin questions whether it's really worth it to destroy spacefaring technology just for the contest, prompting Coiny and Needle to rip her apart as well.
In the painting challenge, Needle expresses her worries to Pin that their team color is purple. Pin asks her what's wrong with it before shortly learning that Yellow Face refuses to participate because of it. Realizing the problem, Pin sends Coiny off to see if there are any shades at Gelatin's Shadeshouse that can change the sight of the color for Yellow Face.
At Cake at Stake, Bomby wins the prize of swapping two team members' vocal cords and chooses to swap Coiny's and Needle's. When Needle speaks and is astounded that her voice sounds like Coiny's, she tells Pin about it who is happy to hear Coiny's voice again but still wishes his presence back after being sent to space last challenge. In the next contest, Pin confuses Needle with Coiny because of her voice now resembling his. As Pin wishes for Coiny to come back from space, Needle agrees but points out that he's probably too far away from them at this point. Pin continues to accidentally call Needle Coiny throughout the challenge. Later on when Needle asks for Pin to forgive Nickel for not knowing how the challenge works, Pin compares it to Coiny not being here when they needs him the most.
After Coiny is recovered from space, Pin welcomes him back and calls the team whole again. Coiny agrees and realizes that he and Needle's voices are still swapped, which Needle is fine with. The three, along with the rest of W.O.A.H. Bunch switch over to FreeSmart for the challenge, forming the Beautiful Face Devotion Institute. Needle throws Ice Cube into a bowl at the start of the challenge and ends up shattering her, causing Pin, Coiny, and the rest of the team to start crying.
During the Beautiful Face Devotion Institute's Cake at Stake, Needle and Coiny are both concerned when Ice Cube calls for Pin's face to be removed. Afterwards, the three and the rest of W.O.A.H. Bunch split back up to reform the original team. In the challenge when the team goes underwater to find Flower's keys, Coiny interrupts Needle's concerns of her drowning team members to point out that no one's checked up on Pin. Needle wonders if Pin is even alive without her face, making Coiny try seeing if she floats or sinks to determine whether she's alive or not. Coiny lets go of Pin and she ends up sinking, leaving Coiny and Needle speechless as they watch her fall.
Later in the season after Needle switches teams, Needle and Ruby laugh about how small Pin has become after recovering her. Pin consults to Coiny about this and the two are both offended by the disrespect.
Battle for BFDI[]
After Coiny and Firey get Taco to throw blueberry seeds in a pot, Pin and Needle approach them and Pin asks Coiny if she's seen her blueberry seeds. Coiny becomes nervous as Pin hopes that they're not in a pot and says that the seeds are explosive. The two figure that Coiny hasn't seen them around and Pin brushes it off and looks elsewhere. Later on, Firey asks Loser if he wants to team up with him and brings his friends Coiny, Pin, and Needle along. They all become happy when Loser gladly accepts Firey's offer to team up.
During the quiz show, Pin motivates the team to keep going strong when the team is nervous without having Loser to support them. When she tells them that the energy they got from Loser came from within them, Coiny agrees and tells this to Needle. When this ends up working and Cake wins for the team, the three all hug.
When Firey finds Four after his disappearance and obtains him in a syringe, Needle suggests to him that Pin should be the one to shape him back up. Pin is nervous about doing so and worries that she may worry their only chance to bring him back, prompting Coiny to encourage and support her. Pin gains the confidence to do so as Coiny and Needle watch her bring back Four.
The Power of Two[]
During team forming for the season, Coiny finds Donut and tells Pin and Needle that he has so many open slots. Wanting to recreate the original W.O.A.H. Bunch, Coiny grabs the two and gathers them to team up with Donut. Later when Coiny and Gaty get into an argument over naming the team W.O.A.H. Bunch again, Pin agrees with Coiny while Needle thinks it's dumb to have it as the name again. Saw ends up accidentally naming the team Team8s anyways. To get up to the hotel roof for the challenge, Needle and Pin await Coiny to tell them the idea he has. Coiny grabs Pin and pokes her point onto the wall to climb up using her. Needle is shortly afterwards used by Barf Bag to do the same.
When Pin accidentally causes Coiny's order for the world's largest magnet to go to Yellow Face's warehouse, Needle carries the two and the rest of the team to the train to get there. Later after getting the magnet from the store, Needle calls for Coiny to set the magnet to magnify the train. Pin is confused on how this will work, making Needle show her by launching Coiny in the air so he pulls the train towards him. As the train now pulls the team, Pin compliments Needle for her idea.
During Team8s' second elimination, Pin, Needle, and Coiny all end up in the bottom three. As Needle and Coiny remain, Two announces that Coiny is eliminated while Needle survives. Coiny becomes disappointed by this but is still happy that Needle survives, although Pin is greatly upset to have to lose Coiny. Coiny shortly afterwards becomes infected during the zombie apocalypse and Needle carries Pin and Donut away from him. In the basement when Pin sees Coiny, Needle further tries to convince Pin that Coiny can't be saved at the moment and urges a screaming Pin to trust her. Throughout the rest of the challenge, Needle and Pin swim away from a zombified Coiny in the basement's sewers.
Fanon[]
Coinpineedle is fairly popular as a poly ship in the Battle for Dream Island fandom. The ship has been around since after the original run of BFDIA because of the season hinting a shared friendship between the three of them. As a ship, fans enjoyed seeing a love triangle between the three since the pairing largely originated as a way to resolve conflicts between the individual ships: Coinpin, Coineedle, and Pineedle. As the following seasons continued keeping them together as friends, the ship remained relatively known within fans of the three and their teams W.O.A.H. Bunch, The Losers!, and Team8s. Ship art is common for the three, whether portraying one of them as a third wheel for one of its individual ships or showing affection for all three of them.
On AO3, as of November 18, 2024, the ship has 2 works under its platonic tag and 1 under the romantic tag.
