Confectionery is the femslash ship between the Artist and Daphne from the Omori fandom.
Canon[]
The Artist and Daphne do not interact during the events of the game. It is not clear if they know of each other. It is entirely possible that they do, given that they both live in a small town. It is likely that Artist would, at the very least, recognise Daphne given that the latter runs the town bakery with her twin brother. This is especially so as the Artist appears to be in charge of both herself and her younger brother given that their parents appear to be out of the picture. As such, she may be a regular costumer, and Daphne may recognise her through this as well. Both the Artist and Daphne are particularly passionate about their craft. Daphne appears to plan to spend her life running the bakery with her brother Bowen while the Artist is very passionate about painting. Additionally, their younger brothers, Angel and Mikhael are good friends with one another. However, both the Artist and Daphne appear to be rather disapproving of their antics.
Fanon[]
The ship is incredibly rare. This is lagrely due to how both characters do not interact at all in the game. Additionally, both are minor characters, especially so in the Artist's case. The ship may be considered by some to be problematic due to age difference, as Daphne was placed in the age bracket of 0-21 and the Artist was placed in the age bracket of 22-30 in old concept art. However, most generally believe that Daphne is on the tail end of the first spectrum, and that the Artist is at the very front of the second bracket. This is due to how the Artist and Daphne are the older sisters of Angel and Mikhael respectively, and that they are portrayed as potentially being of similar ages. Alternatively, some may not know about the concept art.
As both characters are not shipped often, the ship has few rivals. On Daphne's end, the ship rivals Suncake, Breadbasket and Cookie Dough, among others, many of which are generally far more popular. However, the ship faces even fewer rivals on the Artist's end, largely due to how little Artist is depicted in fanworks at all. Notable rivals include Paintbucket and Culinary Arts, which are just as rare. The ship has 2 works on AO3. It has very little fanart. It is the Artist's most written ship on AO3.
The ship name Confectionery most likely comes from Daphne's love for baking and the Artist's love for art. Confectionery is the art of making sweet foods. The same can be said of the alternate ship name Pastry Art. Those who ship them often do so as they believe that the two would look cute together.
