- “They say what you dream... reveals what's in your heart... Does that mean that I...? Could I possibly... have feelings for [Blake]?! He was dazzling in my dream...”
- — Whitley, thinking about Blake

Whitley and Blake first meet when Whitley first came to the Aspertia Trainer's School as a transfer student. Blake immediately takes interest in her, which Whitley is creeped out by. After a battle competition between the students in their class, Blake and Whitley get first in the respective boys and girls competition. This causes them both to get Pokédexes, thus cementing them as the protagonists of this arc.
Blake continues to be nice around Whitley; however, this is a facade. Blake is really a member of the International Police who wants to find the former Team Plasma member who is also a twelve year old girl with a special locket. This locket has former Team Plasma Leader N's face on the inside of it, but it also has a memory card in it, too. Whitley is this twelve year old female ex-Team Plasma member with the special locket. Because of these interactions, Whitley develops feelings for Blake and dreams about him. However, she feels guilty about this because she thinks she should only have feelings for N. Blake and Whitley do a lot of stuff together, like meeting the new and (not) improved Team Plasma under the control of Colress (and also Ghetsis).
Later, Whitley gets captured by this new Team Plasma because they don't like the old Team Plasma. Blake meets up with her, and Whitley confesses that she was a member of Team Plasma. Blake knew this from the start, but he just wanted her confirmation before he handcuffed her to him. However, while escaping, they both get turned to ice by Team Plasma. When they wake up, Blake figures out that he has been kicked out of the International Police for being too risky with Genesect. (He also sold their information to what at this time we thought to be a third party, but whatevs.) However, Blake still feels a duty to arrest all of Team Plasma because he was raised to do that ever since his parents died and Interpol took him in. However, Blake has no regard for Pokémon life because he lacks empathy (or emotion in general). Whitley notices this.
Blake and Whitley don't really do a lot of stuff together after this. They graduate from the trainer's school together, but Whitley contemplates if she really had feelings for Blake in the first place. Blake gets to join Interpol again, and the two part, never to see each other again...

Corruptedshipping is the most popular ship for both characters, at least in the manga. Though the ship between their game counterparts is also popular, they are both more commonly shipped with Hugh than each other, the tag for the manga versions also has more fics than the game one.
