Season 4[]
TROQ
Cyborg goes to Starfire as she readies for her part of the mission. He asks her if she wants to do something so dangerous, and she says that she wants to prove her usefulness. Val-Yor then calls and tells her to get going, calling her a Troq. Victor asks what that means, and Starfire says it means nothing.
When she returns to the ship, Cyborg congratulates her and calls her "Troquie". Starfire angrily says that he doesn't get to call her that, which confuses Cyborg, given that Val Yor calls her that. Starfire says that just because he says it doesn't make it right, and Cyborg is confused since she said it didn't mean anything. Starfire corrects him and explains that Troq is a word that means someone is worthless or a nothing, and Troq is what those who see tamaranians as inferior call them. Cyborg sees that Starfire doesn't want to prove Val Yor right by punching him out, and Star asks if he knows how it feels to be judged for his looks. Cyborg says he does and wants to tell Robin, but Star wants to tell him later. Cyborg says that Robin would want to know now and Star smiles in thanks.
DC Super Hero Girls[]
In one of the Hero of the Month episodes, during the second season of the 2015 web series, Cyborg and Starfire were tied for hero of the month. Making them Heroes of the Month and are the first heroes to tie in Super Hero High history. This is due to their friendship making them an affected team when keeping the city safe from Trigon's attack. Cyborg comments that because they are such a good team they end each other's sentences, even though Starfire says them in a very different way to how he would have said it, she knows what her friend means and has her own way of saying it.

CyStar is one of the more rarepairs for both the DC fandom and Teen Titans fandom. Mostly due to Kori being more often shipped with many other Titans. Most of it's following comes from the Teen Titans animated series, as well as fans of the 2003 Teen Titans run. With most citing how supportive Victor is to Kori in both as the reason for shipping it. On AO3, there are currently 15+ written works.
