DJ and Katie sat next to each other in the mess hall at lunch. Katie worried about their upcoming challenge and turned to DJ, asking him what he thinks Chris is gonna make them do. DJ assured Katie not to worry about it, since this was their first challenge, and was most likely going to be easy.
DODGEBRAWL
DJ and Katie again sat next to each other at lunch in the mess hall, both extremely tired from the night before. DJ and Katie worked together for the dodgeball challenge. They worked well together, throwing dodgeballs in synch to attack the other team. DJ joined Katie in a three-way high-five with Courtney, when they planned on winning this game. When they faced off against Cody, they were both pretty confident that they'd be able to take him down. However, Cody used static electricity to magnetize his dodgeball and throw it at Katie. Katie tried to run from it but it only followed her and knocked her out of the game. Later on the bleachers, Katie nodded her head in agreement, when DJ said that Duncan would kill them if they tried to wake him up.

Katie watched in awe as DJ performed his ballet routine for the talent show. On the night of the show, Katie happily cheered on DJ as he did his ballet routine.

DJ stood at The Dock of Shame as sadly watched as Katie was taken away on The Boat of Losers.

Despite their limited interactions, DJatie is a decently common ship in the Total Drama fandom. Fans scrape as many minor interactions these two had with each other and try to mine as much shipping fodder out of it as humanly possible. Both of them being so sweet and friendly to everyone suggests that they could get along well together. This could even signify that they'd be one of the healthiest relationships in the show, given that there's little reason for them to fight. Some look at their performance together in Dodgebrawl and see this as potential for them to be a power couple. One of the main reasons many people ship them, however, is that they're both kind of leftover characters in the dating pool, since neither of them have had any real relationships with anyone else on the show. This makes them both blank slates for dating, so some fans just choose to put them together just for the sake of giving everyone on the show a boyfriend/girlfriend.
