DaeHun is the slash ship between Kang Dae-ho and Seong Gi-hun from the Squid Game fandom.

Canon

The two met each other during the killing game and interact for the first time after Red Light, Green Light. Dae-ho gravitates towards Gi-hun's Team, revealing that he is a "big fan" of Gi-hun. He imitates Gi-hun yelling for them all to freeze during the game, and shows deep admiration for Gi-hun's attempt to save all of their lives. He is instantly welcomed into the fold of the team, and continues to stick by Gi-hun even when it is revealed that he was wrong about what the second game would be.

Gi-hun and Dae-ho are two out of the five members of the same Six-Legged race team. Gi-hun is shown to be very impressed by Dae-ho's skills at gonggi. The team successfully finishes the game, and when they head to the vote Dae-ho chooses to vote to end the games. This is a new development, as he had previously voted to continue playing the games. He changed his mind due to his new friendship with Gi-hun.

Dae-ho continues to stick with Gi-hun and his team into the next game, Mingle. They work together to ensure that everyone is kept safe and alive, even if it means splitting up for some rounds. In the final round, Gi-hun and Dae-ho pair up with each other.

Following Mingle, the players again cast their votes. Dae-ho and Gi-hun choose to vote to end the game once more. Gi-hun reveals to everyone on his team that the guards will be turning off the lights to allow for a massacre that night. In the midst of that, he has a plan to revolt against the ones running the game. Dae-ho is one of the men that agrees to fight alongside Gi-hun, and when the guards burst in to quell the massacre the men on Gi-hun's team overpower them and steal their guns.

Now armed, the group moves to break into the Front Man's control room. Gi-hun and Dae-ho eventually separate, with Gi-hun moving forward with Jung-bae and Dae-ho remaining back to act as cover. They both manage to survive the night, but the last they are seen they are still separated.

Fanon

DaeHun is a rarepair in the fandom. While some fans really enjoy the age difference between the two characters, there are others that are put off by it and instead consider Gi-hun to be a psuedo-father figure to Dae-ho. Those who enjoy the ship were likely drawn in by Dae-ho showing how much of a "fan" of Gi-hun he was in their first scene together.

DaeHun is most often shipped as part of Gihun's Harem, rather than as a solo ship. This is because Gi-hun has so many other, much more popular ships such as 457, Sangihun and SalesHun that often take precedent in the fandom. Dae-ho does not have very many popular ships, especially in comparison to Gi-hun, but one of their biggest rivals might be his friendship with Park Jung-bae or maybe his ship with Jun-hee and Nam-gyu.

There are popular fan theories surrounding Dae-ho and his status as a Marine. Some fans believe that Dae-ho is secretly one of the VIPs, as he cannot be seen playing Red Light, Green Light and seems to be rather cagey about his past. If this revelation is true then the interest in this ship might increase, as fans seem to enjoy shipping Gi-hun in "toxic" relationships. However, other fans believe that Dae-ho simply has PTSD and does not want to talk about his past in the Marines in detail due to that.

There are currently 12 works for this ship on AO3. It is slightly more popular as a platonic ship on ao3, with over 20 works. The platonic pairing is Dae-ho's seventh most popular ship.
