DaffodilWinter is the femslash ship between Elsa and Mavka from the Frozen and Mavka: The Forest Song fandoms.
Canon[]
Elsa and Mavka have never canonly met. They are both from two different universes and animation studios. Curiously though, Mavka's english voice actress, Laurie Hymes, also voiced Gerda in 'The Snow Queen', which is an animated movie based off the same story 'Frozen' was inspired by.
They are both spirits who live in enchanted forests. Moreover, they both die after doing something they were advised not to do. In Elsa's case, she ventured too far into Ahtohallan. In Mavka's, she used the power of the Spark of Rage. However, both of them are later brought back to life. Also, they both act as a "bridge" between humans and spirits.
They also have a connection to music, in their own way. Mavka finds out about music via Lukas' flute playing skills in her movie. This triggers her powers in a special way. And she ends up falling in love with it. Meanwhile, not only does Elsa sing multiple times throughout both of her full-length feature films due to them being musicals, but she is also led to Ahtohallan by an inviting singing voice.
Fanon[]
The fandom for the ship mainly resides on YouTube, where multiple video edits featuring them can be found. One of the most loved videos uploaded regarding the ship was made by user X.Dominika.X in late june of 2023, titled "Elsa and Mavka: Forest Song (Crossover)", and it has gathered more than 165k views on the platform, as well as 1.2k likes. According to the caption, the plot of their fanmade video was Elsa finding a magical tree in a magical forest, but accidentally meeting Mavka, whose job is to protect the forest and its heart.
A small part of the fandom can be found on Tumblr as well. There, there are a few posts dedicated to them, which were uploaded over the years. But it doesn't seem to be as big of a community yet. On the fanfiction side, there are sadly currently no works for this pair on ArchiveOfOurOwn, Tumblr or Fanfiction.net.

- The ship name for them comes from the folk name for the cold spells that happen during springtime, specifically in april.[1][2]
