Dagther is the family ship between Dagur the Deranged and Heather from the How to Train Your Dragon fandom.
Canon[]
Dagur and Heather are the son and daughter of the late Berserker Tribe Chief, Oswald the Agreeable, who were separated from each other at a young age. What caused this separation is unknown and because Heather was very little at that time and only had her birth father's horn to help her remember him, she had very little memories about Dagur. While Dagur remembers having a sister and that she used to play with their father's shield, before she disappeared from his life.

After Dagur escaped Outcast Island he found the village Heather was raised in and killed her adoptive parents when he and his men attacked the place she had called home for years. Dagur's actions filled Heather with a need for revenge and to have him suffer the same fate as her parents and village. While being unaware that they are siblings. Resulting in her attacking ships with her dragon, Windshear and asking Trader Johann to help her find him. When it looked like that Heather was going to have her revenge, however, Dagur was ready for her. Dagur had one of his men prepare a sack to place Heather in as they lower her and dragon down, but Hiccup arrived on time to save her. When the other dragons offered to help Heather in her next attempt to reach Dagur, Astrid made her promise that the mission would be a capture one, not a kill mission. Heather agreed to this, while secretly planning to kill Dagur once they have him. She revealed this after she and Astrid captured him, leaving him defenceless as Heather orders Windshear to finish him off. Dagur tried to tell Heather that killing him would prevent her from knowing something that she needed to know, but she gapped him before he could finish his sentence. Hiccup arrives just in time to stop Heather from killing Dagur. Knowing that she needs to know that she is the long lost daughter of Oswald the Agreeable, as well as Dagur's younger sister. Heather is horrified to learn that she shares blood with the one who killed her adoptive family and raided her village. After breaking free from his bonds, Dagur tries to convince Heather to join him as a brother-sister duo; to which Heather turns him down on before she flies away with Hiccup and the rest of the Dragon Riders. Due to her feeling of hatred towards Dagur for what he did to her, she leaves her dragon rider friends so she could have time to subject such news; alone.
Sometime after the truth causes Heather to leave Dragon's Edge, while still wanting Dagur to pay she decides to use their shared blood as a means to get close to him. By joining his side so she could buy her time before she can find the perfect opportune moment to exact her revenge. Heather's plot to kill Dagur, however, was put "on hold" when she learned about his alliances with the Dragon Hunters. What Heather didn't expect that the time they spent together with the hunters had got Dagur to grow close to his younger sister, while Heather became a little uneased with her brother's caring behaver towards her. When Dagur learned that Heather was spying for her friends he was angry at her as a part of her was still determined to punish him, like she had tried to before she learned that they are siblings. As Dagur spent the rest of the day with the Grimborn brothers, however, he learned a thing and two about family no matter what kind of bond they share. Which is why when it was time to dispose of Heather, he helped his sister and her dragon Windshear escape, before he leaves them to it.
After Dagur allowed his sister to escape and had too left the dragon hunters, he decided to abandon his derange nature and to become the brother that Heather needs. As Dagur had learned that family is more important that power or revenge, and wanted to bring his family back together again. Once he re-finds Heather, again, after he finds away off the island he became stranded on. Heather on the other hand didn't want anything to do with Dagur and wasn't truly ready to except him, despite how he helped both her and Windshear escape. Dagur had tried to asked Hiccup for help in his search for Heather, by teaching him how to train a dragon. That way he'll have a better chance at finding her than he would be boat. Knowing that Heather wasn't ready to see him yet, and the fact that Heather knows about Dagur killing their father to become chief of the Berserker Tribe, Hiccup didn't tell Dagur that she had joined the dragon riders and sent her off island to prevent their paths from crossing. Until Heather returned and saw Dagur among her friends. Dagur was upset that Hiccup had kept Heather from him and that his sister still hates him. To prove himself worthy of being her brother and to keep Heather from falling into the trap he noticed through Hiccup's layout of the dragon hunter's armada, Dagur goes to take them on all by himself. At first Heather acted that she didn't care that Dagur was believed to be dead, until she found the latter he left for her. Revealing the love he has his sister and he lied about him killing their father after he disappeared, as he only claimed he did so the people would expect him as chief. After Heather finished reading it the rain hide her tears as she begins to cry for him.

Fans of the DreamWorks Dragons TV series had always wondered about the sister Dagur had briefly mentioned in Defenders of Berk, before she was finally revealed to be Heather in Race to the Edge. At first many were shocked by this reveal, from how his character was presented at the time it had fans wanting Hiccup to be her brother instead. Since it was Stoick's chief seal on her horn and Hiccup asking him if Heather was his sister had inspired fans to explore this "what if." Some versions of this idea has Heather possessing no blood ties to Dagur at all, or have him being both Hiccup and Heather's older brother; with all three of them having green colored eyes. Before and after Heather and Dagur were revealed to have joined the Dragon Hunters together as a brother-sister team, the ship was supported by those who are drawn towards hero-like characters who happen to be related to one of the villains they face. After Dagur's reform and was shown to care about Heather, however, people many other people began to join in the support of this familyship. As they watch both Heather and Dagur reconnect and become closer to one another.
There are theories that Dagur attacking the village Heather was raised was because he was looking for her. With the reveal that his father had disappeared while Dagur lied about killing him, it made sense that Dagur would want to hang onto whatever family he has left. While his deranged nature got him to kill anyone that got in his way of reaching Heather.
